Meet my daughter, Madelyn Elizabeth — or Maddie for short.⁠
⁠
I realized I never formally introduced her on my feed, so here we are 👶🏼⁠
⁠
Maddie was born on November 5th, exactly 4 weeks before her due date, weighing 5 lbs 8 oz and measuring 19 inches long.⁠
⁠
She’s a a Scorpio Sun, Gemini Rising, Moon in Cancer, and a Manifestor in Human Design.⁠
⁠
She’s feisty, strong, and has tons of personality for someone so small (she just hit the 10 lb milestone!)⁠
⁠
Her current favorite things are: using her feet to kick things, listening to music, and sucking on her hands. She gives the cutest open-mouth grins when she’s happy and it melts my heart every single time.⁠

She’s everything I didn’t know I needed in my life and I’m proud to be her mama 💕⁠

👶🏼 Running a biz while raising a newborn... two months in, here are 4 things I’ve learned:⠀
⠀
Tip #1. Work from your phone⠀
⠀
I now have aaall the biz apps on my iPhone. Canva, Squarespace, Honeybook, Asana, the works. ⠀
⠀
Before baby, I did 95% of my work at my desk, on my laptop. Now I do 95% of it from my phone. It might not always be pretty, but it gets the job done!⠀
⠀
Tip #2. Naps = life⠀
⠀
This is your golden hour. Milk it. I generally use the first nap of the day to get the house organized, and then nap #2 = go-time for biz stuff!⠀
⠀
You’d be amazed how much you can get done in 60-90 minutes if you’re focused on the stuff that matters. Speaking of...⠀
⠀
Tip #3. Figure out what actually moves the needle in your biz⠀
⠀.. and let go of all the rest. Because guess what, buttercup?⠀
⠀
You do NOT have to be on all the platforms. You do NOT have to publish new content every day.⠀
And you do NOT have to do to be a successful entrepreneur.⠀
⠀
Instead, get laser-focused on the things that are:⠀
⠀
a) Making you money ⠀
b) Growing your audience⠀
⠀
Prioritize those tasks. Get them done first. Anything else is just a bonus.⠀
⠀
Tip #4. Give yourself some MF grace (yes, I'm saying this one just as much for myself as for you).⠀
⠀
You aren't superwoman. (I mean, all moms are basically superheroes but you know what I mean!). You're simply a human who's doing her best. ⠀

But the good news is that perfection is NOT required to be successful - both as a biz owner and as a mom. So cut yourself some slack! You’re doing great, I pinky-promise 😘⠀

A little late to the party here (oops!) but I’ve wanted to do a post like this for baaaasically ever.⠀

I won’t make you wait! Buckle up. Here are 10 of my most unpopular opinions...⠀

1️⃣ The Bachelor/ette is horrendous🤮. I'm sorry but... I can't.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
2️⃣ It is not only okay, but *highly* recommended to put up your Christmas tree and start listening to Christmas music in November. And if you already do, festive high five ✋🏼.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
3️⃣ Backstreet Boys were better than N*Sync. Although let's be real, JT was (and still is) 🔥🔥🔥🔥⁠⠀
⁠⠀
4️⃣ Speaking of hot men... Channing Tatum is a no-go for me. I don't know what it is, but I just don’t see it.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
5️⃣ The hit music these days is pretty awful. IMO, nothing compares to music from the 80s.⁠ Best musical decade of all time, hands down.⠀
⁠⠀
6️⃣ Seafood is gross. I can't imagine eating something that has eyes staring back at me. (I'm looking at you 🦞🦐 - pun intended 😹).⁠⠀

7️⃣ The Holiday and Love Actually are both pretty bad movies. I couldn't even get halfway through The Holiday and Love Actually is just... weird.⁠ Please don’t hate me 😂⠀

8️⃣ Pineapple on pizza is 👍👍👍 . I’ve heard this is a Canadian thing? But either way, it's DELISH.⁠ Try it sometime.⠀

9️⃣ 2020 wasn't that bad of a year. In fact, it was probably the best year of my life! And yes, I do believe you can make something incredible out of just about anything.⁠⠀

1️⃣0️⃣ And finally, a business-related opinion... Every entrepreneur does NOT need a 1:1 coach in order to be successful.⠀

Can having a coach be helpful? Absolutely, for some people. *And* if you find the right coach. But it isn’t necessary for every person or every situation.⠀

Let's be honest - sharing your biz numbers (especially your income) can feel *just* a little bit weird.⁠⠀

But as I've learned from my own mentors, sharing these things not only shows other women what's possible for them, it also activates that potential reality within them, allowing them to create it for themselves that much faster. ⁠⠀

3️⃣ Serving over 50 women in my signature program⁠⠀
4️⃣ Being asked to collaborate with and host a workshop for their community⁠⠀

This year I've had...⁠⠀
⁠⠀
・Awesome launches⁠⠀
・Not-so-awesome launches⁠⠀
・TONS of ideas (too many, at times)⁠⠀
・Total brain meltdowns⁠⠀
・Highs, lows, and everything in between⁠⠀
⁠⠀
But overall, it's been BY FAR the best, craziest, most life-altering year I've ever had the privilege of living. And for that, I'm grateful.⁠⠀

⬆️ Ahhhhh. Words every entrepreneur DREAMS about hearing, am I right? ⠀
⠀..Also: a direct quote from an email I received this morning 😎 (ahem, )⠀
⠀
And it got me thinking... how exactly did I end up here?⠀
⠀
How did I go from...⠀
⠀
➡️ Overwhelmed, confused, kinda shy entrepreneur who couldn’t write a sales email to save her life... ⠀
⠀.. to someone who confidently creates offers and has people excited to (figuratively) chuck their credit cards at her?⠀
⠀
Here are 3 big things I did to get to this place:⠀
⠀
1️⃣ I created epic free content with zero strings attached.⠀
⠀
Over the years I’ve written more than 100 blog posts, recorded nearly 50 podcast episodes, and done more free trainings than I can count.⠀
⠀
I’m a firm believer in giving value before asking for the sale. Why? Because your people deserve it! And also, I LOVE to teach, write, and create. So not only does it serve my audience, it’s actually super fun for me.⠀
⠀
🧠 Brainstorm: How can you add more value to your audience’s lives before you ever ask them to buy? What type of content is the easiest and most fun for you to create, and how can you lean into that more?⠀
⠀
2️⃣ I put offers out there - again and again and again.⠀
⠀
With my first launch, barely anyone signed up. BUT I didn’t give up! I tweaked my offer, updated the sales page, and sent out more emails. Then I created a second course. And then another.⠀
⠀
I paid attention to what my audience needed, wanted, and was asking me for. ⠀
I created it. And I continued to make my courses and offers better and better and better. ⠀
⠀
🧠 Brainstorm: How can I make my offers more enticing and more aligned with what my audience wants and needs? Am I asking for the sale often enough? (Hint: if it’s only once a month, it’s not enough).⠀
