100's of Canadian's gathered in London Ontario to honor the Afsaal's family. Three generations, a Mother, Father, a daughter and their Grandmother while they were killed on Sunday night while they were out for a walk.

They were targeted because of their Muslim Religion! This was a horrible act of terror that stripped from us this beautiful family. How many more lives have to be taken before we act. We need real action. The real treat to Canadians is coming from hate, coming from extremist and is coming from white supremacism. It's time to put resources towards real threat against Canadians!

We will not coward in fear, we will wear our hijabs and turbans with pride because we are proud of who we are. We will not let terror to win. We will not let any act of hate to win. Hate is like a fire once hate takes hold it spreads, consuming everyone. So it is our collective responsibility to stand against that hate, to give it no air to breath, no space to take hold. That is our collective responsibility for all of us to take control together, to radicalized future violent actions.

Together we stand to build Canada where no one is afraid of who they are!

Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence

Equity, diversity and inclusion are necessary conditions for attracting and retaining the best and brightest members of the West Vancouver Community from around the world. This requires that we create inclusive environments free from racism in which to live, learn and work.

Diversity makes us stronger. It enhances innovation and increases the complexity of our knowledge. With that knowledge, we can transform systems of oppression and injustice, and support emerging leaders to help shape not only our workplaces but also our communities and the broader society.

This page provides one accountability mechanism for West Vancouverites efforts. It is a call to action for all community members to confront hatred, oppression, violence and injustice and to support and elevate those who are traditionally, systemically and historically marginalized.
