This Friday, March 8th, 2024, we honor the extraordinary achievements of women around the globe. International Women’s Day is more than a day; it's a reflection of the journey towards equality, recognition, and empowerment in all spheres of life.

We're proud to share that our office workforce comprises 61% women, with 20 incredible women and 12 supportive men, including 4 women in key leadership roles. Our dedication to fostering gender diversity and empowering women doesn’t stop here!

Through our 3E® by RGC Sustainability Program, 26% of participants are women. We are on a mission to increase this to 30% by 2025 and 40% by 2050, believing that a sustainable future for coffee is only possible with women at the forefront of leadership and innovation.

To support our ongoing commitment to women’s empowerment, we recently organized a Women’s Professional Development Training in Huila, Colombia, inviting women coffee producers from our Las Flores del Cafe project in Peru, Las Cantutas, to meet and be trained by our Flagship Women's Group, Las Rosas. The event was made possible by a community development donation from Canterbury Coffee. Together, with the support of our in-country partners Solidaridad and Cadefihuila, 5 women leaders from Peru participated in a week of trainings led by the women of Las Rosas. From workshops in cost accounting to protecting and managing natural resources, to income diversification and entrepreneurship (and so much more), the week was a truly incredible and life-changing experience for everyone involved. We are extremely grateful for our partners who made this experience possible, together we are supporting family prosperity and creating a more sustainable future for all.

In the spirit of giving, RGC Coffee has made donations to the Just for Kids Foundation, the War Amps, CHU Sainte-Justine, and Grounds for Health to support the valuable work they are performing in their respective communities.

RGC Coffee is proud to announce Todos al Agua, an RGC 3E® supply chain project, was selected by the United Nations Global Compact Colombia Chapter as the winning initiative, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goal #13 "Climate Action.” This award was presented to RGC as part of the annual Recognition of Good Practices in Sustainable Development. RGC is proud to celebrate International Women's Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. ♀️

Women are the cornerstone of every society. Over the last year during the COVID-19 pandemic, women have been hit particularly hard. As a society, we still have more work to do in order to create an equitable environment.

Coffee communities are no exception. In most coffee origins, family prosperity depends on the success of the woman. A strong woman means a strong family. 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

Today we recognize all women, no matter their status, position, from farmworker all the way up to CEO, and thank them for everything they do, making the world a better place. 🙏
