Do It In Durham is in celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators, who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. One of our objectives is to showcase the valuable local eco-system of support, funding and entrepreneurial resources that is available to businesses in Durham Region. Do I

t In Durham evolved through discussion with a number of organizations in Durham as we asked the question “How could we inspire and support entrepreneurship and provide a platform for businesses to come together, to learn, grow, succeed and connect?” And this is what we came up with. Last year ‘Do It In Durham’ had over 60 events and partners, with over 1,500 event attendees and in recognition of this success we were awarded the ‘GEW Canada Trailblazer’ badge. Whitby won the “Entrepreneurial Hot Spot” for the number of events (28) held in Whitby and at the Business Advisory Centre Durham (BACD). This year, ‘Do it in Durham’ brings together all partners who will host events for the benefit of Durham’s Entrepreneurial Community. We start on November 10th with a flag raising in honour of Global Entrepreneurship Week, followed by BizFest – a showcase of all the support organizations that could help you to start and grow your business.
