The Find it in Durham Scavenger Hunt is designed to help you learn about some of the resources in Durham Region that are geared towards assisting new entrepreneurs. You will have the opportunity to meet with successful local entrepreneurs in the community and ask them for their expert advice, wisdom and tips. With a total prize pack of $1000 donated by local businesses, we hope this incentive will
springboard your launch or growth! Entry Details:
* Registration opens October 21st, 2013. No registration accepted after November 15th, 2013
* Complete a registration form online at www.doitindurham.org
* Once registered you will be sent a confirmation email containing a participant ID number as well as the first location you will need to visit. At this location you will retrieve a Find It In Durham question card containing a task and/or question to be completed by you in order to move on to the next step. * Like and share our page http://biz.bacd.ca/finditindurham
Contest Guidelines:
* Upload a 60-90 second video to our page. Answer these questions: What makes a good entrepreneur and how will you use the prize money? Include your name and ID number in the video for identification
* Participants must visit the10 scavenger hunt locations in Durham Region and pick up a question card at each location. On the card you may find one or more of the following: a task to perform at the location you are at, a question that you must search online to find the answer to, and there will be a hint/ riddle to a secret object that conceals a scrambled word, all scrambled words will be used to unscramble a secret phrase at the end of the scavenger hunt! You will also be given the next location you will need to visit on this card.
* At the next location you will submit your completed question card to the drop box at that location and you will then pick up your next question card.
* Any online questions must be completed and the answer written on the question card before proceeding to the next location.
* Contest deadline is November 15th, 2013, all of your question cards must be submitted in the appropriate drop boxes provided at scavenger hunt locations on or before Nov 15th. Your video must be complete and uploaded to our page by 11:59pm. Eligibility
* The contest is open to all Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents 15 years of age and older who reside in the Durham Region or who plan to open their business in the Region of Durham.
* If the participant is a current business owner, application must be with the intent to expand the business. Official Rules and Regulations
* Team work or collaboration in answering the questions or solving riddles does not disqualify however, only one winner will be chosen.
* All the submitted content and videos will be reviewed by a selection committee and one finalist will be selected to participate in the final event, where their winning video will be shown.
* If selected as the finalist, you will be invited to attend the Idea Generation and Critical Business Success Skills workshops before the finale event.
* Prizewinners may not request substitutions for any of the prizes
* Do It In Durham (BACD and Spark Centre) reserves the right to use all participants’ names, likenesses, pictures, portraits, voice, biographical information, written submissions, and written or oral statements, for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation to participants unless required by law.
* By participating in the contest, each applicant agrees to these Official Rules and to all decisions of the Selection Committee, which are final and binding.
