📢 2026 Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) – Important Updates & Reminders

Planning to submit a YNP application? Here are some important points for employers and foreign nationals to keep in mind.

1️⃣ YNP Application Deadline
⏰ August 26, 2026
Don’t wait until the last minute. Make sure your application is complete and submitted on time.

2️⃣ Labour Market Need
Employers must demonstrate meaningful recruitment efforts and keep clear records of Canadian and permanent resident applicants and hiring decisions.

3️⃣ Work Permit & IRCC Communication
Keep your immigration status valid, provide the required work permit documentation, and notify the program of any status changes.

4️⃣ Avoid Processing Delays
Missing or outdated documents, expired advertisements, and slow responses to program requests can delay your application.

5️⃣ Common Reasons for Denials
Eligibility issues, Employment Standards violations, inconsistent information, and insufficient labour market need can put an application at risk.

6️⃣ 2026 YNP Statistics

📢 Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) – EOI Intake is NOW OPEN!

The 2026 YNP Expression of Interest (EOI) intake opened on July 6, 2026 and is currently accepting applications.

🗓️ Deadline: July 17, 2026

If you're considering applying, now is the time to get started!

The Yukon Nominee Program’s 2nd Expression of Interest (EOI) intake for 2026 is now open.

Employers can submit an online EOI until July 17 at 4:30 pm Yukon Standard Time.

Employers will provide information about the foreign national and the job they’ll fill. Submissions will be ranked based off the 2026 priorities. Those with the highest score will be invited to apply to the program in August.

The Yukon Nominee Program priorities for 2026 are:
• regulated health care professionals;
• employers in rural Yukon; and
• foreign nationals who:
o have lived and worked in the Yukon for at least 1 year;
o are Yukon University graduates;
o are Francophone or French-speaking; or
o have received a Temporary Measure Letter of Support in 2024 or 2025.

Previous submissions will not carry over. Employers who submitted an EOI during the first 2026 intake but were not invited to apply must submit a new EOI.

Come learn about the development of the Yukon Law Program ⚖️

YukonU is currently developing a law degree program in the Yukon in partnership with the University of Calgary.

This degree would play a critical role in addressing access to justice issues in the North, with a focus on building legal expertise grounded in Yukon contexts and histories.
