Every Child Matters. Every Day.

Today, on Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and stand alongside Indigenous families and communities whose lives continue to be impacted by the legacy of these institutions.

Orange Shirt Day began with the story of Phyllis Webstad, whose new orange shirt was taken away on her first day at a residential school. Her experience has become a powerful symbol of the loss, assimilation, and trauma experienced by Indigenous children across generations.

While September 30 is a day of reflection and remembrance, it is also a call to action.

Reconciliation requires more than acknowledgement. It calls on each of us, as individuals, organizations, and communities, to listen, learn, build relationships, and take meaningful steps toward change.

At Indigevisor, we believe that education, understanding, and authentic engagement are essential to advancing reconciliation. Today, we encourage everyone to take time to learn about the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools, amplify Indigenous voices, and reflect on how we can all contribute to a more equitable future.

We honour the strength, resilience, and knowledge of Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island and remain committed to supporting meaningful pathways toward reconciliation.

🧡 Office Closure Notice | September 30 & October 1

As a proudly women-owned and Mi'kmaq-owned business, Indigevisor will be closed on September 30 and October 1 in observance of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Treaty Day.

These days hold deep significance for Indigenous Peoples. They are a time to honour Residential School Survivors and their families, remember the children who never returned home, and reflect on the truths of our shared history. They are also an opportunity to recognize the importance of treaties as living agreements that continue to shape our relationships, responsibilities, and future together.

We encourage our clients, partners, and community members to take time to listen, learn, reflect, and engage with Indigenous voices, histories, and cultures.
Reconciliation is more than a conversation. It is an ongoing commitment to truth, respect, and meaningful action.

Our office will reopen on October 2.
