🦌 WE’RE SEEKING LARGE DEER & ELK CAPES! 🫎

Cuss Creek Taxidermy is looking for large, high-quality capes for shoulder mount taxidermy.

We are looking for:

• Elk
• Whitetail Deer
• Mule Deer

Capes must be large and in excellent condition, suitable for a quality shoulder mount. Appropriate tags must accompany the specimen.

Elk season is in full swing. We wish you all a successful and safe hunting season.

We have been getting quite a few calls regarding gathering samples for testing. I wanted to clarify a few things.
1. You don't need to cut off your antlers. You CAN get a euro mount and still get your specimen tested.

2. YOU can harvest the samples. It's gross, but it's not that bad. 😂

Not every black bear is black! 🐻✨

This stunning blonde bear rug is still an American black bear (Ursus americanus)—the exact same species as the jet-black bears most people picture.

American black bears actually come in at least 16 recognized colour phases, ranging from: 🖤 Black 🤎 Chocolate ☕ Cinnamon 🥜 Brown 🥛 Blonde 🍂 Tan 🤍 Cream/white (like the rare Kermode "Spirit Bear") ...and several shades in between!

The colour of a black bear's coat depends on genetics and the region where it lives, not the species. In western North America, lighter colour phases like cinnamon and blonde are much more common than they are farther east.

This gorgeous blonde bear made an incredible rug, and its unique colouring really stands out.

Beautiful coat on this bear that went home today.

This bear had some massive damage to its face, we weren't sure how well it was going to piece together. But it turned out quite alright. 🎉
