Your September Preventive Care report is sitting in MCEDT. Before your team starts working through it, make sure everyone knows which bonuses your model can still claim.

FHO and FHN physicians can no longer claim the pap smear, mammography or colorectal screening bonuses. Influenza and childhood immunizations still count, prorated if you have fewer than 1,000 enrolled patients.

FHG and CCM physicians can claim all five, but only if they hit the minimum roster size on March 31.

And the flu bonus clock is running: the service period ends January 31.

New on the MAP website: OHIP Surgical Unbundling: Pre-Op and Post-Op Visits Now Pay.

INFOBulletin 260901 confirms three changes that apply to surgeons working in hospital and in community surgical centres, all retroactive to April 1:

Pre-op assessments by the operating surgeon within 1 to 2 days of surgery are paid in full.
Subsequent visits (C122A, C123A, C124A, C142A, C143A, E083A, E084A) are payable on the same day as the surgery.
In-hospital visits in the two weeks after surgery are paid in full.

Same-day assessments are still bundled, so do not start billing those.

Members of our team were proud to spend the day at the Rise Above Community Health Conference, hosted by St. Clair College.

This year's theme, Reclaiming Purpose in Care and Service, brought together healthcare professionals, first responders and public safety personnel from across our region.

The program opened with a keynote from Kristin Kennedy, President and CEO of Windsor Regional Hospital and Erie Shores HealthCare, followed by a fireside discussion led by Dr. Janelle Abela with Bill Marra of Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Nicole Sbrocca of the Canadian Mental Health Association Windsor-Essex County, Adam Topp of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, and Inspector Scott Jeffery of the Windsor Police Service.

Thank you to St. Clair College and everyone who made the day possible. It is always a privilege to be in a room with the people who keep Windsor-Essex's care system running.

Since April 1, surgical pre-op and post-op visits were supposed to be paid separately from the surgical fee. The OHIP claims system did not catch up until September 1.

If your remittance advice shows SB, S7, SV or F5 on these visits from April through August, those are the claims a retroactive Medical Claims Adjustment is meant to fix.

The bigger risk is the visits your office stopped billing because they kept coming back reduced. The adjustment cannot pay for a claim that was never submitted.

Construction is visibly moving at the Fancsy Family Hospital site. Phase 1 enabling works are underway, including the tunnel that will connect the Administration and Learning Building to the main hospital.

The parking garage is expected to become the first major structure visible later this fall, with the Administration and Education Centre following as Phase 1 continues through 2027.

As a Windsor-based team, we are proud to watch this project take shape for our region's patients and providers.

A busy fall for Ontario's physician and dental communities.

For Windsor-Essex physicians, the Essex County Medical Society has Clinic Day on October 7 and its golf tournament at Essex Golf Club on October 14, with the AGM on December 2.

For dentists in their first 10 years of practice, the ODA's New Dentist Symposium runs October 24 and 25 in Toronto, with two days of clinical and practice management CE. Registration is open to ODA members and dental students until October 23.
