Tomorrow is the closing event for National AccessAbility Awareness Week (NAAW) 2026!

Join our friends at Windsor Hackforge and ALSO - Assisted Living Southwestern Ontario tomorrow from 1–3 PM as they wrap up a week of important conversations around accessibility in our community.

This isn't just a closing ceremony - it's also the launch of the first-ever Accessible Community Data Bank, a living resource that tracks accessibility supports at businesses and public locations across Windsor-Essex. From ramp access to sensory-friendly hours to digital accommodations, this tool will help our whole community navigate with confidence.

Congratulations to NORCAT on the announcement of their investment from the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network (OVIN) and the Province of Ontario to be a regional technology development site. OVIN is connecting our province from north to south and east to west with this powerful network, supporting connected, autonomous, secure, and electrification technology - from the mines under our feet in Northern Ontario to the vehicles driving off our assembly lines in YQG.

Last week, we were proud to attend to the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) NEX-GEN 2026 conference at the University of Windsor, where we had the privilege of providing feedback to the next generation of engineers and innovators.

From tackling AI bias in hiring and advancing Alzheimer's research, to reimagining rideshare - the breadth of talent on display was truly inspiring. In addition, Candice Dennis from Picsume delivered a standout session on building your personal brand as an emerging professional.

Our Director of Venture Services & Partnerships, Adam Castle and Invest WindsorEssex's Senior Director, Innovation and Trade, Ed Dawson are excited to be on their way to visit our friends at NORCAT and Sudbury Economic Development for the Mining Transformed Conference. ⛏️

South goes North this week as we look to strengthen relationships to our provinces mining sector, and uncover opportunities for our startup and industrial innovation business community. And naturally, we're doing it in a Windsor-built Chrysler Pacifica.

What a day. ⚡️

Our Women in Mobility Peer Group had the incredible opportunity to tour Canada’s first large-scale battery manufacturing facility - NextStar Energy right here in Windsor-Essex.

From the scale of the facility to the conversations around leadership, innovation, talent, and the future of mobility, the experience left members inspired and energized about what’s being built in our region.

It was especially meaningful to meet and hear from some of the incredible women helping build the future of this industry from the inside.

A huge thank you to the entire NextStar Energy team for the warm welcome, thoughtful experience, and for truly rolling out the red carpet. We’re also grateful to our partners at Invest WindsorEssex for continuing to help create opportunities and connections like this.
