Extreme Heat Safety Reminder
Environment Canada is forecasting extreme heat conditions. Everyone is encouraged to take precautions to reduce the risk of heat-related illness:
• Drink water frequently
• Seek air-conditioned or shaded spaces
• Wear lightweight, light-coloured clothing
• Use sunscreen and take breaks when outdoors
• Avoid strenuous activity during peak heat hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
• Check on older adults and vulnerable neighbours
• Ensure pets have access to water and cool shelter
• Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle
