IRCC is expected to introduce a new Temporary Resident to Permanent Resident (TR to PR) pathway in 2026.

This upcoming pathway may provide an important opportunity for individuals already living and working in Canada to transition to permanent residence.

While official program details have not yet been released, one thing remains clear: preparation will be key.

We’ve outlined a list of commonly required documents based on existing PR programs to help individuals begin preparing in advance.
