If you live in the Okanagan or if you're coming here for a visit this summer you HAVE to round up your friends and family and book a day for Smile Cycle Tours!!! Basically, a 15 man bike that takes you on a pub crawl downtown Kelowna!! We did this a couple of weekends ago and it was a total BLAST!!!! 🚲🍺🍷

I Do love lake Country

It has been a week and a half since the Okanagan Center fire and we just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the incredibly brave men and women who kept us safe on July 15th and in the days following. We want to thank not only our Lake Country stations (Oyama, Carr's Landing, Winfield) but everyone from across the province that came together to extinguish the blaze and keep our people safe.

We want to thank the individuals of our community as well. You came out in droves in a minutes notice with horse trailers, trucks, strong bodies and hearts to help their neighbours in their time of crisis. Our hearts are with everyone who were on evacuation alert, evacuated, and who lost homes. We are very grateful and thankful for our community, and it is in times like these that we realize how good we really do have it!

Funny, no beating around the bush in those days eh!

In the 1950s it seems British Columbia took a much tougher stance on those who carelessly dropped their cigarette butts on the ground.

This vintage photo of a sign by B.C. Forest Service warns passers-bys against throwing their butts off the road. It says: “The one who dropped it should also be hanged. Prevent forest fires.”
