A huge thank you to the Manitoba Association of Fire Chiefs for another outstanding annual conference in Steinbach, Manitoba.

Thank you as well to the host organizations, the City of Steinbach, the Rural Municipality of Hanover, and the Eastman Mutual Aid District, for their hospitality, hard work, and commitment to making this year’s event a success.

The conference provided an excellent opportunity for fire service leaders from across Manitoba to connect, share ideas, learn from one another, and continue building strong relationships that strengthen our communities and the fire service as a whole.

Congratulations to everyone involved in organizing and delivering another great event.

We are already looking forward to next year’s conference, which will be hosted by the North Interlake Mutual Aid District in Gimli.

Thank you to all the organizers, presenters, sponsors, and attendees who helped make this year’s conference such a success. Safe travels home, and we’ll see you in Gimli next year!

Weather Outlook for Winnipeg Beach - Sunday, June 7

Environment Canada has issued an Orange Weather Alert for parts of Manitoba on Sunday. Forecasts indicate there is the potential for strong thunderstorms to develop during the afternoon and evening hours.

Potential hazards may include:
• Strong wind gusts
• Heavy rainfall
• Frequent lightning
• Large hail in some areas

At this time, there is no need for concern, but it is a good reminder to stay weather aware and keep an eye on local forecasts throughout the day.

A few simple steps residents can take:
âś… Secure loose outdoor furniture, umbrellas, and other items
âś… Charge cell phones and electronic devices
âś… Have flashlights readily available
âś… Seek shelter indoors if thunderstorms approach
âś… Boaters should monitor conditions closely and be prepared to return to shore quickly if storms develop

Stay safe, enjoy your weekend, and remember: preparedness is always the best approach.

Yesterday, members of the Winnipeg Beach Fire Department had the opportunity to get a sneak peek at our new pumper truck, and we couldn’t be more excited!

This new addition to our fleet will help us continue providing the best possible fire protection and emergency response services to our community for many years to come.

There is still a little work to be done, but we are looking forward to taking delivery in the coming weeks. We can’t wait to bring it home and show it off to the community.

Stay tuned for more updates and photos as we get closer to delivery!

Our sincere condolences to Chief Sparham’s family, friends, and the Headingley Fire Department. Rest In Peace Chief.
