🏡 Beautiful Home, Expensive Appliances & A $2,200 Repair That Saved a $20,000 Fridge!
This beautiful home has thousands of dollars invested in high end Miele appliances.
After about 10 years, the refrigerator developed a cooling problem.
Unfortunately, the customer’s Miele service provider was unable to resolve the issue, so they had no choice but to call Hameed Wafa for help.
Company who sells Miele passed along the Miele service provider’s name as well as my name, and just like many of the calls I receive, I was contacted after the service provider was not helpful .
It took me over two hours to diagnose and repair the refrigerator properly.
But here’s the part that really matters. 👇
Replacing this refrigerator would not have been as simple as ordering a new one and bringing it into the house.
Getting the existing refrigerator out of the upstairs location would be extremely difficult and potentially cost thousands of dollars, especially because of the glass windows and the challenging access/large forklift
I see situations like this all the time.
About 95% of my customers are honest, friendly people, and many of them tell me about the challenges they went through just to get their appliances installed in their homes.
And remember I don’t take advantage of them because they are in a bad situation.
Sometimes I go into a customer’s basement and find a washer or dryer that is practically impossible to remove.
The original appliance may have been installed before walls, doors, or other parts of the house were finished.
Years later, when it finally needs to be replaced, the customer discovers that simply getting it out can be a major project.
Sometimes the only realistic option is to disassemble the appliance piece by piece and remove it, or even make significant changes to the opening just to get the old unit out and a new one in.
That’s why repairing an appliance can sometimes be much more valuable than simply replacing it.
💰 Total repair cost: approximately $2,200
💰 Replacement refrigerator: approximately $20,000
So in this case, a $2,200 repair potentially saved the customer from replacing a $20,000 refrigerator plus the enormous cost and headache of getting the old unit out and installing a new one.
And the customer? Absolutely amazing. ❤️
He was incredibly kind and appreciative. He even helped me carry some of my tools back to my van, shook my hand twice, and thanked me repeatedly.
Those moments mean a lot to me. 🥰
