My first service call this morning was a funny one. 😆

I walked in to check out a dryer that wasn’t working. After a quick look, I found a stuck switch, popped it back into place, and had the dryer running within 10 seconds of arriving.

The homeowner was sitting in her wheelchair watching the whole thing.

The moment she heard the dryer start running, she got so excited, looked me straight in the eyes, and loudly yelled:

“F*** ME!” 😩😂

I nearly jumped out of my skin! For a second, I thought, “Uh oh… what did I do wrong now?” 😭🤣

After realizing she was just excited that her dryer was working again, I could finally breathe!

So here’s a friendly reminder: if I fix your appliance and you get extremely excited, please don’t yell things that give me a heart attack. A simple “thank you,” a handshake, or even a hug will do just fine. 😂

And for the record, I’m an appliance repair technician, not a genie granting those kinds of wishes! 🤣

The customer decided to repair her dryer herself to save some money. What started as a simple repair quickly turned into a “while I’m in here, project. One screw became ten missing screws, one wire became three mystery wires, and somehow a perfectly good dryer became a giant puzzle. 😂

After a few hours of battling the dryer, she finally waved the white flag and gave me a call.

When I arrived, we had a good laugh about the adventure, and I got everything sorted out and running properly again.

By the end of the visit, she was smiling, the dryer was working, and she made me a promise:

Next time, I’m calling you first before I start repairing it myself!” 🤝😆

Sometimes the most expensive repair is the one that starts as a DIY project!

I recently visited a customer regarding an LG dishwasher with a faulty display board. To help further, I recorded a video of the issue and AirDropped it to her so she could show her husband and also keep it as a reference if the same problem happens again in the future.

I also asked her to stay in touch and send me a message every couple of weeks in case I came across a similar model that could provide a replacement part.

Today, I finally received the same dishwasher model. I’m installing a new unit, and the old one still has many good parts available.

Today was one of those service calls I won’t forget. 🙏

I went to repair a large high end Monogram oven for a customer, and while working in the kitchen, I overheard some hockey talk between the homeowner and his wife. Something told me, “This guy has to be a hockey player.”

Later, after checking the customer information, I realized it was former NHL player Cody Eakin.
I smiled and asked him, Are you a hockey player?
He smiled back and said, “Yes.”

I was very happy and asked if we could take a picture together.He was incredibly humble and kind. He put his hand on my shoulder and said, “Let’s take a picture.” 😁

The oven was extremely heavy, and he even helped me remove it and place my sliders underneath it. Not only that, but he also helped carry the oven glides out to my van and gave me a very generous tip 🥰
(And yes, he gave me the tip before I even asked if he was a hockey player.)

This experience reminded me of another service call I had in the past while repairing a dishwasher for Connor Hellebuyck and his wife. At the time, I had no idea he was an NHL player either.

The dishwasher part took over a month to arrive, and throughout the entire process his wife was always very patient, respectful, and kind whenever she called to check on the status of the part.

Meeting people like this reminds me that some of the most successful people are also some of the most humble and respectful.
No matter who they are, kindness always stands out.

I truly appreciate customers like Cody, Connor, and their families for being so down-to-earth and respectful.
These are the moments that make this job special. 🙏🏒🔧

One thing I’ll never forget ✌️before I left, Cody smiled and said, “I’ll find your YouTube channel and subscribe too.” 🤗like seriously you are so awesome
