A few reasons your Study Permit may be refused:
💸 Insufficient Funds - You must be able to demonstrate to immigration officers that you have adequate funds to pay for:
-Tuition fees;
-Living expenses for you and family members while you're in Canada:
-Cost of transportation to and from Canada for you and accompanying family members.
📄 Misrepresentation- This happens when an applicant provides IRCC with untrue or misleading information as part of their application. Examples of misrepresentation include fraudulent documents or not submitting important information, such as having a criminal record.
-Always be transparent with your answers in your study permit application! Double check dates, documents and personal information that you submit.
🏡 Not being able to show temporary resident intent - One of the eligibility requirements linked to obtaining study permit approval is demonstrating to an immigration officer that once your study permit expires you will leave Canada. To prove this, you normally must show that you have strong ties to your home country.
🗞️ Missing Documentation - If you do not submit required documents for your study permit application this may result in your application being seen as incomplete, and your application being denied.
✈️ Unclear Purpose of Visit - Immigration officers assess whether or not your primary reason in coming to Canada is to study. If your application gives the impression that your main purpose for coming to Canada is to work, your application for a study permit may be refused. Submitting a Statement of Purpose/Study Plan with your application provides the officer with additional information about your intentions.
