Excited to announce that we will be soft relaunching of Neechie Nights again in Winnipeg along side the launch party of Indigihub.

For those who can remember, Neechie Nights was a grassroots organized event bringing together Indigenous Entrepreneurs, Social Innovators, and Creatives under one roof to collaborate, network, and build community for Indigenous self-determination.

Neechie Nights needed a home to keep it going...and well its BACK and has found a home at .hub under the leadership of founder Zachary Flett with the same grassroots folks championing and supporting the project.

📅 Date: Friday, September 26, 2025
⏰ Time: 6:00–8:00 PM
📍 Location: Next Door WPG, 116 Sherbrook St, Winnipeg

This evening will be a chance to reconnect with community, enjoy meaningful conversation, and celebrate the vision of supporting Indigenous entrepreneurs, creatives, and changemakers.

Inigihub is the perfect home for Neechie Nights as it is a grassroots platform built by and for Indigenous innovators.

It’s been a real privilege to watch Sol Bistro’s (.wpg) co-founders, Ovie Lawrenchuk and Samuel Cadelina, bring their vision to life. Had an incredible evening experiencing Molecular Manila, a 6-course fine dining journey that reimagines Filipino cuisine through the lens of molecular gastronomy.

Sam and Ovie are true culinary artists who are set to elevate the Winnipeg food scene for years to come. Amazing to see First Nations and Filipino roots come together behind such a powerful concept.

Crazy to think about how closely our communities mirror each other, from our aunties and uncles to the tita and kuya energy.

Spending National Indigenous Peoples Day reflecting on the incredibly inspiring Indigenous leaders I met from across the globe at the 2023 Commonwealth Study Conference that just ended this past Monday.

The Duke of Edinburgh Commonwealth Study Conference brought together nearly 300 of the world most promising emerging leaders from across the commonwealth and was the single most intense experience I’ve had in my life with 12-18 hours days every single day for the past two and half weeks. We were all placed amongst study groups that toured every province and territory across Turtle Island, and I was honoured to be the Study Chair of the New Brunswick Study group tour that leaders from 14 different countries.

Today, I am grateful for the time I spent in Banff for opening plenary and reuniting in Montreal for closing plenary with all the Indigenous delegates around the world as well as the opportunity to hold a smudge ceremony for the our Indigenous brothers, sisters, uncles, and aunties across the globe. We all acknowledged that although colonization was the mechanism the bound our commonwealth relations together, the true relations we all made to one another was through our mutual connections to our lands and the Indigenous Languages born from them.

We all sacrificed so much of ourselves to hold space in these circles and I truly believe this group showed that Indigenous solutions are the answer to global problems.

I have gone through a lot in the past little while and have had to take a leave of absence from work to attend this incredible opportunity with much more personal sacrifices made behind the scenes, so I ask for all your patience and kindness as I snap back to reality and get back to my normal life.

More posts and reflections to come from this incredible experience in the near future.

Ekosani, chi-miigwech, thank you to all my new family members and relatives made at CSC2023.

I'm honoured to have been selected as one of Peak's Emerging Leaders for 2023 in the Entrepreneurship Category!

The Peak’s annual list celebrates up-and-coming young leaders shaping Canada's economy, culture, and society. The 2023 Emerging Leaders are ambitious Canadian leaders under forty who go above and beyond their roles to make a change.

When you are passionate about your work and are always focused on the next big thing on the "to do" list, it is easy to forget to take some time to smell the roses and truly appreciate the community and tribe of mentors who have empowered my personal mission along the way.

As I share this recent honour, I thought I would take the to acknowledge the time and people it took to support some other exciting honours and opportunities that I have been blessed with in the past several months.

Chi-miigwech, Ekosani, many thanks to Indigenous Professional Association of Canada for the honour of the most recent IPAC Indigenous Achievement Awards chosen from 4 former Recognizing Excellence professionals in the past two years.

Recently I was also extremely humbled to be accepted into the 2023 CommonWealth Study Conference and have accepted a role as one of the Study Group Chairs amongst a group of 300 emerging leaders from over 35 countries coming to Banff this June!

It's so important to acknowledge that none of this could have been possible without the incredible colleagues, mentors, and community who are the reason why I am able to do the work I love and receive these incredible honours and opportunities.

Special thanks to these special leaders/mentors, supporters, and friends/colleagues in my life: Holly Atjecoutay, Karen Greve Young, Kevin Garcia MSc., Janis Nixon Diane Roussin BA, BSW, M.S.M. 🦦, Sarah Midanik, Loren Remillard, Sanjana Vijayann, Jessica Dumas, Wanda Wuttunee, Chance Paupanekis, Kevin Reynolds, Don Wilson, Shreeraj Patel, MBA, Robb Ritchie. Katelyn Lawson, Annette Sabourin, Jamie Dumont, Rhonda Forgues, Elissa Parker, Erica James, Jason McDonald, April Massie, Sam Swanson, Jeff Ward, Richard Tuck, Joelle Foster, and so many more friends that have and are supporting my journey.

Neechie Nights provides a space for Neechies and friends to build connections and collaboration by facilitating a short 45min Fireside Chat with a panel of various Indigenous Entrepreneurs, Social Innovators, and Creatives. Following the Fireside Chat, Neechie Nights will provide space for friends to visit and find opportunities to:

-Connect with like-minded folks working toward similar goals in our local Indigenous community
-Practice your Powwow Pitch: Pitch Open mic
-Build your tribe of mentors
-Enjoy Local Indigenous Artists and Entertainers

The inaugural Neechie Nights was a huge success with well over 100+ like-minded Indigenous and non-Indigenous allies who attended, so you DO NOT want to miss out on Neechie Night 2.0!
