Check out this sweet gift and warm holiday message from Oai Truong and Dean Smallwood, my frequent and brilliant partners in crime from Bounce Design. The gift bites (see what I did there?), but I'm grateful for your good humour and the opportunituy to work with you!

Here's an article I recently posted about Chuck LaFlèche, a good friend, colleague, and client, not to mention my favourite Habs fan/Elvis impersonator. We have the pleasure of working together for SciMar Ltd., a remarkable medical research company on the brink of major breakthroughs in metabolic health and type 2 diabetes. Please take a look. As the King himself would say... thank you, thank you very much.

It takes mere moments for two Manitobans meeting for the first time to figure out who they know in common. It’s faster than a Google search, some would say. For SciMar CEO Mick Lautt and Charles (Chuck) LaFlèche, it was even faster than that when they sat down together for the first time in 2017.

Thanks to my friend Oai Truong and the talented design team at Bounce Design for the mid-day "Lockdown Snackdown" Mexican treat (that ironically included some Corona). It was certainly something to taco 'bout! But the real treat is partnering with this top-notch agency on a wide variety of cool projects.

What is the relationship between chronic disease and mental health? My SciMar blog article shines a light on the question through the eyes of Sara Jordan, an executive with the Canadian Mental Health Association in Calgary.

Do depression and anxiety lead to chronic physical disease, or does having a chronic disease lead to depression and anxiety?

Episode 2 of SciMar's podcast "Inside the Breakthrough" is now out in the world. Such a treat to be part of this team! Great science storytelling with Dan Riskin, former co-host of Discovery Channel's Daily Planet. Episode 2 is called "How Bad Timing Killed the Electric Car". Listen at

On the surface, this is a collection of surprising and unusual stories from the history of science. But Dan Riskin digs deeper. He draws connections between those stories and the challenges facing modern day medical researchers. It’s historical wisdom mixed with modern insight. Along the way we wi...

Proud to work with the exceptional teams at SciMar and Viotika: Manitoba companies working to address major challenges in global health. Learn more in this article from the December 30 edition of the Winnipeg Free Press.

While the whole world has waited and marvelled at the technological magic that’s been deployed to produce COVID-19 vaccines in record time, there is a growing realization in some quarters about other devastating public health issues that need to be addressed. During the lockdown two small Manitoba...

Found this on my doorstep today – a gift from my friend and colleague Oai Truong. While it’s technically a coffee mug, Oai assures me that it will work with other beverages, too. (I plan to test that claim.) It’s versatile, just like the team at Bounce Design. Happy 20th anniversary, Bounce! It is a privilege to partner with you.
