’s push to work permits and immigration allocations has been rejected once again by , according to Immigration Malaya Marcelino.
Marcelino says she to the capital this week alongside local business leaders to for both work permit extensions and higher provincial nominee program allocations — but was met with repeated refusals.
“My request for the work permit extension, my request for some consideration for federal allocation, have been met with steady noes: no, no, no, no,” she told CBC News.
This marks the second rejection in just two months, raising fresh concerns among Manitoba employers who continue to rely on temporary foreign workers to fill labour shortages.
With businesses already feeling workforce pressures, the federal response is expected to fuel further debate across the province.
