Introducing our newest fleet addition, a Cratos CMX18 fully electric demolition excavator. Our shop team transformed this little guy into a 16ft high reach coupled with an Oil Quick OQ40 for quick changes between grapple and shear. The boom insert can be removed and back to it’s original characteristics in less than an hour. The size difference is drastic when you see this 1.8T unit next to a 65T brute. Junior here is off to a large interior demo next week in downtown Winnipeg!

On Saturday morning, April 6th, Rakowski Energetics, in partnership with Triad Demolition and Dismantling, explosively toppled a boiler unit in Sebree, Kentucky. Rakowski Energetics would like to thank Brandt and his crew for the prep work, teamwork, and the opportunity to participate in this project. It was a pleasure to work with the entire team!

In partnership with Delsan-AIM, Rakowski Energetics executed a remarkable demolition feat at the Lambton Generating Station in Ontario. Kudos to our team for safely bringing down 9 structures in just 30 seconds using 3500 lbs of explosives!

In 2005, Rakowski was contracted by Canadian Pacific Railways to demolish a 240’ smokestack at their Weston Shops in Winnipeg, Manitoba. With no room to drop the stack, we set up our Link Belt HC218A (100ton) crane operated by Chris Rakowski, company co-owner, and all the boom we had and coupled it with our modified LaBounty UP20 Pulverizer to slowly crunch it from the top down. After 20 days, the smokestack was successfully brought to the ground and removed from the site. Although tedious and slow, this is one of several smokestacks that Rakowski has safely brought down using this method over the years.

Our team's precision blasting skillfully brought down this prominent structure, marking the end of an era. Hats off to our dedicated team for their outstanding work!

Kicking off the new year with our Rakowski Demolition team on the St. Vital Bridge project in Winnipeg!

Similarly to our recently completed bridge rehabilitation in Thompson, MB, this job includes the concrete cutting of the deck panels at temperatures exceeding -30C through January and February. We’ve developed a unique self-contained hot water delivery system that keeps the saws running throughout the day and makes this seemingly unattainable task a reality in the cold weather season.

We are busy transforming this vital infrastructure for exciting improvements in 2024.
