Hello Ms Joanna,
I hope you’re having a wonderful spring break (almost over!)!
Just an update on your former students: Kailani is in University of WInnipeg in the Faculty of Science Pre-Optometry Program and doing quite well in her Year 1, Addison is in Grade 9 now and wants to be a Psychologist, she is volunteering with a psychologist and doing very well at school, Trinity is in grade 1 and reads chapter books for grade 6, loves science, and learns like a sponge.
You did such a wonderful job with all my kids, I want to thank you again. The girls remember and talk about Little Dipper every now and then. Your impact is life-long for these girls.
And this “diploma”, is the first of Kailani’s now 3, and hopefully 2more.

Our Curriculum

Little Dipper Montessori is dedicated to providing a rich program which is well balanced and educational.

Our curriculum includes Practical Life, Sensorial,Language,Math,Science,Physical Education,Cultural,Music,Creative Drama,and Art (creative expressions).

There are benefits to giving your child a quality preschool education. Children will have a very successful transition to elementary school, and children are well prepared for their future. This gives them a solid foundation on which to build further education that includes a positive attitude towards school, positive self-esteem, sense of order, abiding curiosity, deep concentration , persistence, self-discipline, and responsibility.

The benefits gained from early experiences help students excelin many areas.

What is Montessori ?

Dr. Maria Montessori was a woman ahead of her time, a visionary and a scientist. In the 20th century she developed a system of education, and away of understanding and honouring children.

The principles of Montessori philosophy such as the "Absorbent Mind",the prepared environment, and the inner urge in every human being to learn and grow are confirmed by most recent brain research about how children grow and how the brain develops.

Dr. Montessori saw mental growth as an extension of physical growth. This means that environment provides stimulation for the growth of intellect. Intelligence is the result of the interactions between hereditary and environment.

Another important principle in Montessori theory is that children learn naturally. A child absorbs information from his environment without any effort. Dr. Montessori termed this capacity for learning the "Absorbent Mind".

She also emphasized the importance of a prepared environment. A Montessori environment is a place where children can do things for themselves and it encourages learning. It is prepared to help the child physically,intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.
