TWCC SCHOLARSHIP FUND

TWCC hosts an Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament to raise funds for the TWCC Scholarship Fund. The fund was established in 2005 and was designed to promote First Nation students in Manitoba pursuing their post-secondary studies in the form of a certificate, diploma and/or degree. To date, TWCC has awarded over $185,000 in post- secondary scholarships to students in Manitoba.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

1) TWCC Scholarship Award Application Form; the application form can be downloaded from https://twcc.ca/twcc-scholarship-fund/
2) Autobiography explaining the type of work you want to pursue after graduation, your long- term career goals, and why you believe you should be selected to receive the award.
3) Letter of reference, written by someone from your institution of study, or from your community.
4) Proof of acceptance and/or enrolment into a recognized post-secondary institute.
5) Copy of Status Card.
6) Transcript of previous scholastic year.

** Please note, incomplete applications will not be considered.

WHO CAN APPLY?

• Any First Nation student in Manitoba.
- Also applies to students from Manitoba who are pursuing their studies out of province.
• Enrolled in a recognized post-secondary institution.

APPLICATION PROCESS & SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS:

The selection process will be administered by TWCC to efficiently distribute the funds to individuals on the basis of need in a transparent manner. Specific guidelines are followed, free from internal bias and verified through proper due diligence.

 TWCC will review and select the successful candidates using their established criteria.
 Each successful candidate will be notified by TWCC of their Scholarship Award.
 Successful candidates agree to be part of TWCC media releases including but not limited to news releases, website, non-traditional media and other such communications at the discretion of TWCC.

Payroll Analyst and Benefits Administrator

Job Overview

Reporting to the Sr Director, Client Services, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of education or relevant experience in payroll and benefits administration;
• 1-2 years of practical experience in Human Resources is considered an asset;
• Detail and process oriented with a high degree of accuracy;
• Knowledge of Payroll legislation;
• Experience working with Payworks an asset;
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel in an advanced capacity, including formulas, filtering, sorting, pivot tables and VLOOKUP;
• Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information;
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver on commitments;
• Familiarity with benefits compliance regulations and reporting requirements.

Summary of Accountabilities

• Maintain and update employee information, such as records of employee attendance and leaves to calculate pay and benefit entitlements;
• Prepare, verify and process all employee payroll related payments, including regular pay, benefit payments, and special payments such as bonuses and vacation pay;
• Prepare and verify statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, benefits and pension plans;
• Manage and administer employee benefits programs, including group insurance and pension plan;
• Collaborate with HR team to develop and implement employee benefits communication strategies;
• Conduct research on industry trends to recommend improvements to existing benefit programs;
• Verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as pension plans, leaves, employment an group benefits, ensuring accurate and timely enrolment of employees;
• Prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax documents, Records of Employment and other statements;
• Compile, review, and monitor statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts;
• Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies;
• Support the day-to-day administration of the payroll and benefits administration activities;
• Provide ad hoc leave, vacation, compensation and human resources related reports through Payworks Absence Management system as required;
• Compile data from HR Analytics module (Payworks) for the purpose of analyzing issues and providing reporting useful for Management;
• Able to manage multiple administrative tasks with tight deadlines;
• Assist with Human Resources administration, including file maintenance as required;
• Other duties as assigned including willingness to work occasional weekend and/or stat holiday when they fall on bi-weekly payroll weeks.

Reporting to the Director, Client Services, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in employee relations, recruitment (attraction and retention), training & development and change management. This role will also be involved in Health and Safety, Green Initiatives, Total Rewards and equity/diversity initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Post Secondary Education with a diploma/certificate in Human Resources and/or
completion of a professional development program in Human Resources.

Minimum 4 years experience in a similar position.

All aspects of employee relations.

All aspects of recruitment and retention;

All aspects of HR policies and procedures related to employee relations.

Analyze and assess training and development needs.
Summary of Accountabilities

Assist in the planning, organizing and evaluating the operations of human resources department;

Monitors and strives to reduce the costs of the recruitment process;

Liaison with management to identify personnel needs across all positions, including the possible creation of new positions;

Advise management on organizing, preparing, and implementing recruiting and retention programs;

Project yearly recruitment expenditures for budgetary consideration and control;

Maintain current knowledge of Pay Equity, human rights, labour legislation changes and employment standards guidelines and laws;

Coordinate all internal and external recruitment processes including job postings, transfers or promotions of selected employees ensuring all applicable standards in hiring are met.

Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting;

Advise managers and employees on staffing policies and procedures;

Responsible for orientation and onboarding of new employees to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives;

Ensure compliance with Public Works and Government Services Canada Contract Security for Government contracts awarded;

Overseeing the validity of the Designated Organization Screening (DOS) issued by the Contract Security Program (CSP) and ensuring the organizations Document Safeguarding Capability (DSC);

Administer and coordinate employee development and training programs;

Assist with the identification of training needs, the selection, development and delivery of appropriate programs;

Oversee health and safety compliance and committee participation;

Advise and assist other departmental managers on interpretation and administration of personnel policies and programs;

Assist in the development and implementation of programs that will drive increased employee satisfaction and commitment levels;
