2026 TINY

Increasingly there is recognition that high expectations and frantic activity are making us anxious and stressed. In contrast to all this freneticism, the art of mundane living, the repetitive certainty of specific routines and the joy of simply existing feel aspirational.

Dolls’ houses and miniature worlds become proxies for real home ownership for renters, where fantasy interiors are achievable and affordable. The dolls’ house also informs scale; deliberately shrinking proportions, making everything smaller and cosier.

TINY also reflects an invigorated appraisal of craftsmanship. However, this is not high-end, unaffordable craftsmanship, but more about objects with purpose and worth.

This story is about the joys of collecting, not for investment or monetary gain, but for the sheer love of it. Small tokens of past visited places become important; look to pin badges or items of clothing and comfort passed down.

Designed to evoke the comfort and familiarity of an old friend or a happy memory. Functional and humble, a palette of utilitarian neutrals and nostalgic craft hues is both reassuring and quietly cheerful.

Here we explore the palette in combinations of 2, 3 and 4...

Geographic Colours: Australia & New Zealand

In Australia and New Zealand, consumers are shifting towards quality and sustainability, choosing smaller brands that can represent these values. Many create projects informed by past technologies, styles and customs, with nostalgic elements and a focus on being green.

A connection to the regional landscape sees an increased richness and clarity to the neutral and orange hues.

Geographic Colours: Africa

Africa has a rich and varied history of craftsmanship, with skills often passed down through generations.

High value is placed on craftsmanship and forever design across the region, reflected in demand for handmade pieces.

The importance of nature to the regional view of this story sees the greens reworked with additional depth and richness.

Geographic Colours: Middle East

In the Middle East there has been a shift from conventional assets, which has informed a resurgence in bespoke architectural commissioning, new and antique artisan furniture, textiles, interior adornment, jewellery, timepieces and clothing.

Interestingly, both conspicuous and conscious consumerism co-exist here, and in both cases, the pursuit of elitist, unique, expertly crafted possessions is widespread.

While the colour space of the global palette resonates, nuances to saturation bring both a regional textile-inspired intensity, as well as an urban neutral element.

First Light

An optimistic duo of clean and pale blue Zephyr and orange Sunbeam, paired with mid-tone central yellow Yarrow, recalls transitional light at sunrise. Easy applications see cheerful colour blocking and gradient effects across footwear, home decor and textiles.

2026 MOON

The Moon is the target of a new space race.

The idea of collective endeavour and optimism may be perfectly timed. As with the original space race, the message here is about the journey and not the destination, about collaboration across the world.

In terms of future investment, the stakes are high. Mineral studies have opened discussions about possibilities for construction, agriculture and mining. Helium-3, a rare clean energy resource on Earth, is abundant on the Moon and holds significant promise.

Space tourism also edges closer to reality with developments in space balloons and capsules. Ideas are already seeping into the design industry’s collective consciousness.

Lunar aesthetics and engineering breakthroughs hold the potential to address challenges posed by Earth’s most hostile environments, such as deserts and Antarctica.

Visually, the mood here is highly atmospheric, with subtle impressions of dust and minerals. There is a glowing luminescence alongside a general absence of visual noise.

The MOON palette presents with two distinct faces and a stark aesthetic. In a union of the natural and technical, a cool greyscale contrasts with a series of clean, glowing hues and a striking orange.

Here we explore the palette in combinations of 2, 3 and 4...
