Evolve College of Massage is pleased to be hosting a comprehensive introduction to acupuncture course in our state-of-the-art facilities this upcoming fall.
Introduction to Acupuncture (The Art & the Science) will introduce participants to a wide range of acupuncture theories, styles and techniques at a basic level useful in all clinic practices. Focus will be on treating a wide range of common neural and musculoskeletal pains and injuries. The course will also include an introduction to the science and treatment styles for fascia in the connective tissue - interstitial fluid system (CTIF).
Participants will have ample opportunity to practice formally presented points and techniques during the seminar. The course will emphasize safety in practice in accordance with the current World Health Organization’s guidelines on acupuncture licensing body.
The practical workshops will emphasize surface anatomy palpation, needle insertion techniques and specific condition treatments to allow participants to integrate the learnings into their own clinical practices.
The course includes 130 contract hours with instructors plus a concurrent self-directed home study (180 hours) for a total of 310 Arts and Science education hours.
The target participant for this training is any health care practitioner whose scope of practice includes the practice of acupuncture or inserting needles below the dermis. Chiropractors, physicians, physical therapists, athletics therapists, registered massage therapists, occupational therapists, registered nurses, physician assistants and veterinarians may find this course useful.
