🖊️ Healing Often Starts With Self-reflection

Trauma can shape the way we think, react, and move through the world — often in ways we don’t fully recognize. Many people carry patterns, emotions, or protective behaviors without having the tools or space to gently explore where they come from.

Lacking self-reflection and self-awareness, patterns from trauma can keep us stuck. Unless we can bring those emotional and behaviour patterns to the surface or our attention, healing will feel confusing or overwhelming. It can be difficult to understand our inner responses when we don’t have a framework to help make sense of them.

This tool can be used independently or with a therapist, by using journaling and guided self-reflection to support healing from trauma. The framework can help individuals explore their inner systems and patterns with care and compassion. Election coverage can strongly influence how the public views candidates and political parties — and sometimes that influence is subtle enough to go unnoticed. The tone of a headline, who gets interviewed, what stories get repeated, and what gets left out can all shape public perception.
Missing media literacy skills, it can be difficult for students and citizens to recognize bias or understand how narratives are built. This can lead to people accepting coverage at face value without questioning how information is being framed across TV, radio, newspapers, and digital media.

This guide helps uncover the different ways media bias can appear during elections and political coverage.
