We are looking for students who represent and advocate for CPHR Manitoba within their institutions. Campus Ambassadors will work to build relationships with peers and faculty while promoting CPHR Manitoba and the CPHR designation. Only one person will be selected from each program.

Starting October 1, 2026, new changes under Manitoba's Employment Standards Code will limit when employers can require employees to provide a sick note for illness or injury-related absences.

Employers will only be able to request a sick note when an absence lasts longer than one week or when an employee has been absent due to illness or injury for more than 10 scheduled workdays in a calendar year. Employers who require a sick note will also be responsible for reimbursing employees for reasonable costs associated with obtaining one.

For HR professionals, now is a good time to review attendance management practices, update workplace policies, educate leaders on the new requirements, and ensure documentation processes align with the legislation.
