After a long and careful process, Thunderhead, Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ National Monument, is coming together. The steel structure is up, all major components have been fabricated, and most of the pieces have arrived on site in Ottawa. The panels are being mounted, giving shape to the monument, with interior mirrored glass tile scheduled for installation this spring.

This project has always required patience, deep collaboration, precision fabrication, and a lot of coordination behind the scenes. Seeing it transition so clearly into built form is meaningful for all involved.

We’re looking ahead to a summer opening and will be sharing more from site as the work continues. Thanks to the many partners, builders, fabricators, and advisors who have carried this forward. Piece by piece, we’re almost there.

This recognition celebrates a collaborative effort to shape a resilient, connected, and ecologically grounded future for Edmonton’s newest regional park. Thank you to the City of Edmonton, our project partners, and the many communities who helped guide this vision.

The Open is a new public washroom and pickleball court in Calgary’s East Village

Part architecture, part landscape, and all public space, The Open transforms a simple program into a meaningful urban place. The project combines recreation and utility, offering an accessible washroom and a free outdoor pickleball court that brings people together across generations.

Rooted in transparency, safety, and play, The Open shows how public infrastructure can be both useful and joyful as it becomes a new kind of social space for the city.

Northeast River Valley Park Strategic Plan

Public City’s Northeast River Valley Park Strategic Plan for the City of Edmonton is one of three projects in this year's Edmonton Urban Design Awards Climate Resiliency Category.

The plan shapes the future of a 77-hectare park into a place of connection and stewardship, healing and reconciliation, and year-round vibrancy. It balances ecological restoration, inclusive design, and cultural expression to create a celebrated public space for all Edmontonians.

Swan Valley Regional Secondary School’s soon to be open Cultural and Performing Arts Centre in Swan River, Manitoba. This is an important asset to Central Manitoba, providing a first of its kind multi-purpose educational and community arts facility. Construction is just wrapping up after an incredible journey with students, staff, Elders, community leaders, and builders from the Swan Valley Region.

Our new Winnipeg studio will be located at 534 Sara Avenue, in the Langside Grocery building. We’re looking forward to being part of this vibrant neighbourhood once again.
