ONE whole year of the The Campanellas

A year ago, Chelsea & Giuseppe were married at The Gates on Roblin on the most perfect late-autumn Manitoba day.

The air was crisp, the sun was warm, and The Gates was covered in that golden light that late October somehow does better than any other time of year.

Chelsea looked absolutely angelic, and Giuseppe quite literally could not take his eyes off her. These two have always shared such a calm, genuine energy together. Their love doesn’t need to be loud to be felt deeply, and their wedding day reflected that beautifully.

From seeing each other at the aisle to dancing through their sunset portraits, everything felt intentional. They were surrounded by their favourite people, ate incredible food (as always at The Gates), and ended the evening exactly how they wanted to.

Chelsea & Giuseppe have always reminded me that so much of life together is built in the little things: slow mornings, shared books, inside jokes, familiar routines, and simply enjoying being beside your person.

And now they’ve had an entire YEAR of getting to call each other husband & wife (and now Mom & Dad). 🥹

Happy first anniversary, Chelsea & Giuseppe! Here’s to many more years of slow mornings, good books, quiet little moments and building a life that feels like home. 🤎

Lisa & Austin 🤎

High school sweethearts…. although Lisa would like it noted that when they first met; “she couldn’t stand him”. 😂

Nine months of (clueless) persistence later, Austin won her, and they’ve been doing life together since they were 17. From golf and travelling to trying new restaurants, pizza + red w**e nights, and apparently a mutual appreciation for reality TV and a good gossip session.

Years later, Austin proposed in a beach in Mexico at sunset, wearing Crocs, with a mariachi band playing and 2-for-1 pina coladas (it was Lisa’s ideal scenario, tbh.) Both of them claim they blacked out (from excitement; not pina coladas) and can’t remember what he said. Regardless, his sweet lil Mumma was there to document it all for them!

From teenagers figuring life out together to planning a wedding all these years later…. I loved getting to document this little piece of their story on a September evening. 🤎

Sam & Nick ✨

These two met while they were both living abroad in Europe (talk about an adorable meet-cute), which feels pretty fitting for a could whose favourite memories include travelling the Greek islands, eating good food, drinking good w**e, and generally doing life side by side.

Somehow, Nick managed to completely surprise a woman who describes herself as scheduled, intuitive and usually in charge with a proposal on the roof of a boathouse, followed by 40 of their favourite people waiting to celebrate.

Honestly, well played, Nick. 😂

Nicole spent a perfect little autumn September evening documenting this chapter before the next one begins. 🤎

Gen & Cody 🤎 09.26.2026

A moody September day at FortWhyte Alive, with the rain holding off at literally alllll the right moments.

Honestly, I think this weather was made for these two. Their very first camping trip together was three rainy days in Riding Mountain, freezing cold and figuring out how the heck to keep a fire going… so a few clouds and misting rain on their wedding day were nothing.

Gen & Cody met on Hinge back in 2021, and what I love most about their relationship is how comfortable they are simply doing life together. Brewery dates, walks outside, travelling, a little healthy competition, or doing absolutely nothing at all. Neither feels like they have to perform for the other. They just get to be completely themselves.

And that feeling carried through their wedding day.

It was relaxed, filled with their favourite people, and SO much laughter. Even with the forecast doing its best Manitoba-in-September impression, we slipped outside whenever the rain gave us a window and let the autumn colours do their thing.

Their story has already taken them from rainy camping trips to Iceland, Malta, and Banff, buying their first home together, and getting engaged in the living room on the very day they got the keys. Now they are married and preparing for a honeymoon-of-our-dreams in Australia!

Gen & Cody, thank you for inviting me to document your love. I hope marriage looks like a whole lot more travelling, brewery dates, making each other laugh, and being wonderfully weird together.

Marina & Mitchell 🌙

A little September evening with these two, wandering through the trees, running around empty roads, and recreating a tiny piece of the beginning of their story.

One of Marina & Mitchell’s first dates was at a drive-in, so naturally we had to throw some blankets in the back of the truck and bring a little bit of that memory into their engagement photos.

Honestly, this is exactly why I love when couples bring back pieces of their actual life into a session. It doesn’t have to be elaborate. Sometimes it’s just the back of a truck, a pile of blankets, and something that takes you right back to when you were first falling in love.

And based on the amount of laughing happening throughout this gallery…. I don’t think much has changed. 🤎

Happy first anniversary to The Fawcetts!

A year ago, Julia & Kody were married at Leo Mol Sculpture Garden & Qualico Centre on the coziest, moodiest autumn day. Manitoba weather tried to be dramatic (as always), but the rain held off when it mattered and those cloudy skies made the fall colours even more unreal.

These two love their people deeply, and you could feel it woven into every choice they made. Nothing was rushed. Nothing was for show. Every part of the day felt intentional and heartfelt. But my favourite part is still how they started it.

Julia & Kody began their wedding morning the same way they begin so many of their mornings together; quietly, with coffee. Except this time, they sat across from each other and shared their vows. No audience. Just the two of them, starting their marriage in the most them way possible. 🥹

There’s something so beautiful about beginning your marriage the way you live your everyday life together; slowly, intentionally, and side by side.

These two are near and dear to my heart, and while it’s always an honour when someone trusts me or my team with their story, it hits differently when it’s someone you love.

Julia & Kody; I hope year one of marriage has been filled with lots of slow mornings, good coffee, and a whole lot of doing life together.

Happy first Anniversary to The Ophey’s!

One whole year since this perfect autumn wedding day for two people who are equal parts deeply in love and wildly adored by their people.

From start to finish, their day was intentionally designed with room to slow down, feel it all, and soak in the presence of the people who matter most.

One of the most beautiful parts of the day was the way they honoured Ryan’s late father: subtle, thoughtful, and deeply meaningful. You could quite honestly feel the love in every corner of this celebration.

Steph looked timeless, vibrant and elegant in the most effortless way… like she was literally made to be a bride. And Ryan was calm, steady, and so clearly smitten with her!

Their vendor team went above and beyond to bring their vision to life, and every detail came together so beautifully for these two honeys.

A year later and we’re still so grateful we got to be a little part of this one. 🥹

Here’s to year one and alllll the years still to come. 🤎

A sunny September Sunday at The White Polar with these two and a whole lot of people who very clearly adore them.

This gallery is one of those ones where I keep coming back to the people around Janine & Zack. The teary eyes during the ceremony, the hugs, the giant smiles, their families standing proudly beside them… there was so much love wrapped around these two all day long.
