Lightfoot & Wolfville

Lightfoot & Wolfville The new hospitality facility features a retail boutique, tasting room, wood-fired pizza oven, and patio where guests can enjoy stunning views of Cape Blomidon.

Situated in the Annapolis Valley, Lightfoot & Wolfville Vineyards is one of Nova Scotia’s newest wineries, officially opening to the public in the summer of 2017. Owned and operated by the Lightfoot family who have been farming in the Annapolis Valley for eight generations, Lightfoot & Wolfville provides a truly unique farm winery experience. Embracing organic and biodynamic agriculture, this esta

te nurtures not only 35 acres of vineyard, but also raises heritage breed livestock, and grows its own produce for the winery kitchen. With close proximity to the Minas Basin and the world’s highest tides, cool breezes and excellent temperature moderation help create wines of great distinction. The focus is on elegant, balanced wines that speak of their origin including award-winning Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, aromatic whites such as Riesling and sparkling wines. The opulent underground barrel cellar and marquee tent among the vines provide the perfect backdrop for weddings and special events.

We are honoured to share that the Lightfoot & Wolfville 2017 Blanc de Blancs, 2021 Brut, and 2022 Brut Rosé were three of the five wines selected to receive a 2026 Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in Nova Scotia Wine!

Thank you to His Honour the Honourable Mike Savage, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, for recognizing the quality, innovation, and craftsmanship that continue to define Nova Scotia’s wine industry.

Traditional method sparkling wine production is a commitment of time, patience, precision, and collaboration from vineyard through to bottle. These awards celebrate the collective care and dedication that shaped these wines over many years, from our winegrowing team to our grape-growing partners, whose work is fundamental to Nova Scotia’s farm wine industry.

We are especially grateful that each of our three 2026 submissions was recognized, marking a first in the history of the award—an achievement that speaks to the exceptional potential for Nova Scotia sparkling wine.

We extend our warmest congratulations to fellow recipients Avondale Sky Winery and Benjamin Bridge Vineyards | Certified B Corp.
