I'm thinking I am going to start taking clients in January. I'm not sure on pricing at this point because of travel costs. I'm re-reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth for the 5th time. Such a great source of information! Also, I just received my new copy of The Birth Partner, after my first copy has stayed with a client. I just have to have it with me at births, even still. It's a great book for doulas and dads.

Some people say that newborns are ugly when they are born because they are slimy and have a white coating on their skin (called vernix). This is an interesting article about the benefits of delaying the first bath.
