🔥 FIRE PREVENTION WEEK 2026 🔥
FEELS HOT? STOP USING IT. 🔋📱
If your phone, charger, power bank, e-bike battery, or other rechargeable device feels unusually hot, stop using it and unplug it from the charger.
Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we use every day, but damaged, defective, or overheating batteries can become a serious fire hazard.
⚠️ Watch for warning signs:
- Unusual heat
- Swelling or a change in shape
- Strange smells
- Leaking
- Popping, hissing, or unusual noises
- Smoke
Small action. Big impact. If something doesn’t seem right, don’t take the chance. Stop using the device and follow the manufacturer or local disposal guidance for the battery.
This Fire Prevention Week, make battery safety part of your everyday fire prevention routine. 🔥🔋🧯

Fire Prevention Week 2026

🔋 Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we use every day, from phones and laptops to e-bikes and power tools. Charging them safely helps reduce the risk of fire.

🦸‍♀️ Today's Superpower Tip: Charge devices on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk or bare floor. Avoid charging on beds, couches or under pillows where heat can build up.

🔥✈️ IN-FLIGHT FIRE SAFETY — KEEP IT IN SIGHT! 🧯🔋
Flying with phones, tablets, power banks, and other lithium-ion battery devices? Keep them where you can see them while charging.
Lithium-ion batteries can overheat, smoke, or catch fire if damaged or malfunctioning. When you’re on a flight:
🔋 Keep phones, power banks, and charging devices visible and accessible
👀 Keep an eye on devices while they’re charging
🔥 Stop using a device immediately if it becomes unusually hot, swells, smokes, or gives off an unusual smell
✈️ Follow your airline’s instructions for carrying and using lithium batteries and power banks
Small action. Big impact. Fire prevention doesn’t stop when you leave the ground.

October is breast cancer awareness month.

For firefighters, breast cancer is an occupational risk. One study found a 46% increase in breast cancer among female fire fighters compared with the general population.

This month, we stand together in support of those affected by breast cancer, survivors, those currently fighting, families, and those we’ve lost.

From our family to yours, we’re proud to stand with you! 💗
