Smarter maps, greater reach. 🗺️

Community polygons have now been launched in various Acasus-based countries, from Pakistan, to Mozambique and Nigeria.

By identifying communities that are far away from health facilities and yet to be visited by vaccinators, community polygons help vaccinators locate the communities most in need of visiting, through colour coding on both printed and digital maps.

These polygons enable governments to vaccinate thousands of citizens who previously went unvaccinated, meaning communities across Africa and Asia will now receive greater protection against vaccine-preventable diseases.

Vaccinators often drive for many hours to reach local communities.

But too often, they have to pay fuel costs out of their own pockets – an unfair burden for people saving lives.

Recently, we supported Pakistan's Governments of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to ensure this doesn't need to happen again.

Through setting up fuel cards, these provincial governments have enabled vaccinators to readily spend an allowance at local petrol stations.

This initiative will expand immunisation coverage, reaching more communities – and saving lives.

Helping governments fight back against measles.

Between 2021 and 2023, the number of measles cases reported around the world increased from approximately 100,000 to over 650,000. In fact, 2023 saw the number of people who died from measles exceed the amount of reported cases in 2021.

But Acasus is supporting governments across Africa and Asia to fight back.

Helping to monitor the number of vaccines being administered to citizens, turning these results into data packs for accountability, and increasing the opportunities for citizens to get vaccinated, are all important aspects of this support.

Since 2023, governments have vaccinated millions of people, and we are determined to help this figure keep rising.

It’s World Malaria Day 2025.

And here’s the pledge – Malaria ends with us: Reinvest, Reimagine, Reignite.

There’s so much to be proud of in the way citizens, communities, governments, and organisations have come together to reduce malaria rates in recent decades.

The first vaccines ever developed for malaria, dual-insecticide nets, and genetically modified mosquitoes, all show the innovation taking place to eliminate the disease.

But now it’s time for citizens to take charge, with the unwavering support of governments, organisations, and leaders around the world.

Only then, can malaria really be eliminated.

Autism isn't an epidemic. But stigma, misinformation, and fear are.

With decades of experience in health and creating demand for life-saving vaccines, Acasus' Susan Mackay weighs in on the damaging myths related to autism.

'The recent uptick in diagnoses – now estimated at 1 in 31 children in the U.S. – isn't a sign of an epidemic,' she writes. 'It's a sign that the tools and our understanding of the human brain are improving.'

In her latest article, Susan highlights that vaccines save lives. At the same time, autism should be recognised not as a disorder to be feared, but as a different way of experiencing and contributing to the world – often with unique and valuable strengths.
