Here’s how I repurposed myself.
Three years ago, my income basically dropped to zero overnight — from €120k to €5k.
I didn’t leave to chase some crazy dream. I left because I was tired of seeing good ideas die between a cool demo and actually building something people want.
I wanted to see if I could bridge that gap on my own. So I built one — backend, two apps, an extension, payments, invoicing, tests, the whole thing.
It took me 27 months, completely solo.
And honestly, most of that time wasn’t coding. It was getting things wrong, learning, and trying again.
That’s what repurposing meant to me. It wasn’t about getting a new job title. It was about rebuilding my skills by actually shipping something, with no team to hide behind.
