Look who is back!
WSJ reported that Kitten Heels are our new trend.

History.
A miniature heel from 3.5 to 5 cm high appeared in the 50s of the last century. The world was thawing from the thundering war, the hardships of the post-war period were receding, and beauty, fashion and the desire to live beautifully came into their own. Men changed their overcoats for suits, and ladies enjoyed the freedom of lush flying skirts. Look needed to be complemented with elegant shoes, preferably such that you could wear to the office and for afterwork date.

Today.
Past Fashion Weeks showed that this summer kitten heel is again at the peak of popularity. This is not surprising. It is convenient and elegant. And besides, it's incredibly articulate :) Flying dresses and skirts, a strict office suit, relaxed jeans + shirt - almost everything fits with them.

For me personally, the reference kitten heels are by Roger Vivier . It was he who was the main shoe designer of the Christian Dior House in the 50s. His ornate shoes were called "Faberge shoes". He has collaborated with brands from YSL to Balenciaga. He shoed the stars of the first magnitude, but what's there - he had the honor to make a pair of shoes for the coronation of Elizabeth II in 1953. And its boutiques adorn the streets of the main fashion capitals.

Have you seen the new Dior cruise collection?
If not, here is some insides ☞

An incredible sight inspired by the great Frida Kahlo. Toledo dresses, caballero women, ponchos. And even the pouring rain did not ruin, but rather emphasized the charm of the collection.

The main motif of the show were butterflies 🦋. Butterflies printed and stitched on dresses. Belts with butterflies, bags decorated with leather butterflies - not to mention mini evening bags in the form of butterflies. Hairpins, earrings and tiered necklaces with the same butterflies.

BUT❗️

Dior is a bumblebee! Little 🐝 has been the symbol of the House since its foundation. And here all of a sudden there are butterflies and not a single bumblebee, not even a stray one.

The clue was found in Frida Kahlo's biography.

Legend says that when Kahlo was forced to stay in bed because of her illness, her friend - artist Isamu Noguchi presented her with a collection of butterflies, which he screwed to the ceiling above her bed. Kahlo was endlessly inspired by them, painting a layered palette of these creatures in her paintings.

Maria Grazia Chiurri magnificently paid tribute to the great artist and her motherland.

𓇼He became Anna Wintour's "first."

He sneaked into the Empress's bo***ir, thoroughly rummaged around, and stepped onto the runway with a Molotov cocktail of Baroque, French folklore, and theatrical extravagance!

His colleagues scoffed and dismissed him. But he proved that excessiveness can be refined!

Garters, corsets, draperies, layered, tiered skirts, and lavish embroidery. Buying a "pastry" from Lacroix was the dream of many.

It was his sweater, adorned with precious gemstones, that Wintour placed on her first Vogue cover.

He always dreamt of the theater, and this love brought him to the stages of the Paris Opera. For 45 years, he has been "dressing" the artists for leading productions. (No wonder, as he's an art historian, specializing in 18th-century costumes.)

"As daring as Picasso," fashion historian Anne Hollander said about him half a century ago.
Today, at 72, Lacroix hasn't lost any of his zeal and boldness!

His recent collaboration between with Dries Van Noten. ❤️‍🔥 Fire and Ice - Belgian north and Provençal south. They merged eccentric maximalism and purist minimalism! Shake but not stir. 🍸 Bravo!

Today is the World Theater Day!
I heartily congratulate actors, directors, choreographers, costumers, artists, prompters, make-up artists, props, musicians, lighting and sound engineers, cloakroom attendants and ushers and everyone involved in the theater! Inspiration, courage and opportunities to embody even the most daring ideas!

And I want to recommend literally every production from the cycle “From Giselle to Akhmatova” The Paris Opera.
