The art of seing people BIG
“Moritz, when you are done with this training, let me know. I could see you being a trainer here at iPEC Coaching.”
It was day 2 of my coaching training, and my trainer, Nina, had turned to me and spoken what she saw.
I was inspired.
In my training they would later call it “planting a seed” in our clients or employees, or just people in our lives.
That seed grew, and I just remembered as I got back the confirmation that the training program we launched this year would be accredited by the ICF.
For that to happen it took people seeing me big.
When I told my mentor Ria about wanting to create the Being Institute, she had no hesitation in telling me, “I think it’s a great idea.” Another person in my corner that reminds me of my bigness, rather than my smallness.
There have been several women (my mum is another one who never doubted the crazy ideas I brought to her) and men who saw me big, often bigger than I could see myself in that moment.
It is powerful what happens when we choose to see people big.
There is a power that goes beyond the words. It is a listening they have for you, and in that listening you suddenly find yourself taking steps that you would never have taken before.
In my book these women modeled for me what leadership truly is. Seeing someone so big that they can’t help themselves but to become that.
“In every human being there is both garbage and gold, it is up to us to choose what we pay attention to.” Werner Erhard.
Seeing people big is seeing the gold in them.
And the more we look at the gold, the more it starts to shine.
Who has seen you big? Bigger than you might have seen yourself.
