Day 2 at GovWare 2026 | 🇸🇬

Another strong day of conversations and connections!

wizlynx group is at Booth T23 with Parasoft, meeting attendees and talking about the security challenges organizations are facing today.

Tomorrow is the final day of GovWare 2026. If you haven’t stopped by yet, don’t miss your chance to meet the team in person.

No alert does not mean no attack.

Here is something many people do not expect. Skilled attackers often go after your logs before they go after your data.

The APT29 hacking group did exactly that. Before stealing emails, it turned off the audit logs on the accounts it targeted. 🔕

Other attackers delete only the records that point to them, or simply use normal admin tools so nothing looks strange. Either way, your team may see only part of the story.

We explain how it works, and how to test for it, in our new article 👉 https://www.wizlynxgroup.com/news/log-evasion-security-visibility/

If someone switched off your logs tonight, would anyone notice?

Day 1 at GovWare 2026 in Singapore is a wrap! | 🇸🇬

Security leaders, experts, and tech teams from across the region came together to talk about staying resilient, new technologies, and the real threats organizations face today.

We were happy to be there with our friends at Parasoft at Booth T23, sharing what we see from the attacker's side. 🛡️

Our favorite session of the day was "Humans at the Core." AI and automation are changing cybersecurity fast, but people still make the difference. Good judgment and real expertise cannot be automated. 🤝

“Are we secure?”

Many teams answer with one fact: nothing alerted.

But a quiet security team and a blind one can look exactly the same.

Advanced attackers know this. They don’t always delete logs. Instead, they:

• Turn off audit logging
• Block the sensors your security tools rely on
• Delete only the few events that would expose them
• Use the same tools your IT team uses every day

One group, Volt Typhoon, stayed inside some victim networks for at least five years.

No alert does not always mean no attack. Sometimes it means no one was watching.

Break It. Build It Better. | 🇸🇬

GovWare 2026 starts tomorrow, and we're ready!

Hackers don't care how your software was built. They only care where it breaks. That's why wizlynx group and Parasoft are teaming up at one of Asia's biggest cybersecurity events to bring you both sides of security:

• The attacker's view: we test your systems the way real hackers would.
• The builder's view: we help teams write and test safer software from day one.

This weekend’s news shows that a cyberattack doesn’t always come straight at you. Sometimes it comes through people and tools you trusted. Here are three stories worth knowing about.

🤖 | One person, AI tools, several banks. — Researchers linked attacks on South Korean banks to a single attacker using AI hacking tools. Customer data was exposed, and some services went down. The developer of the main tool has since taken it offline, but copies are still out there. AI is making it easier for one person to do the work of a whole team.

🕵️ | The helper is now facing charges. — A cybersecurity executive whose company helps victims negotiate with ransomware gangs was arrested in the U.S. on extortion charges. The case is still sealed, and nothing has been proven in court. Still, it raises a hard question: how well do you know the experts you would call in an emergency?

🏥 | The breach came through someone else’s system. — Medical device maker iRhythm says at least 360,000 people had their personal and patient details stolen. Attackers tricked their way into business apps run by a third-party provider. Medical devices were not affected, but patients’ data was.

An alert went off — but the attack kept going. 🚨

Many people assume that if your EDR detects something, you are safe. But detecting an attack and stopping it are two different things.

Sometimes the alert comes late — only after the attacker has already done part of the job. So the real question is simple: can your team act on that alert fast enough to stop the attack before it reaches its goal? ⏱️

An alert tells you something was seen. It does not tell you the attack was stopped.

And if the endpoint gets too risky, a skilled attacker simply moves on — into identity, cloud, or trusted admin systems, where each team often sees only part of what is happening. 🔎

Our latest article looks at what happens after detection: what defenders can still see, whether they connect the dots, and whether the full attack is actually stopped.

What happens after attackers get in?

Most cyber news focuses on how attackers break in. This week showed something more worrying: what they can do once they're inside.

📱 | "ASOS HACKED" — sent by ASOS's own app.
Customers of the UK fashion retailer got a strange alert on their phones this week. It came from the official ASOS app, but the attackers wrote it. ASOS says names and contact details may be exposed. When attackers control your messaging tools, they can speak to your customers in your name.

🇩🇰 | 8.8 million people, one borrowed login.
Denmark says attackers used a private company's legitimate access to the national ID register. They ran mass searches and exposed names, addresses and personal ID numbers for around 8.8 million people. They didn't break down the front door. They used a supplier's key.

🔥 | Locked out of your own firewall.
The FBI and US Secret Service warned that attackers are still logging into Fortinet firewalls with stolen passwords. In some cases, they changed the passwords and locked the real owners out. The device built to protect the network ended up working for the attacker.

☁️ | Their breach, your outage.
Ransomware hit IDC Frontier, a cloud provider in Japan. To stop the damage, the provider shut down part of its service. Websites for local governments and companies went offline, even though those organizations were never hacked themselves.

The lesson? Stopping attackers at the door matters. Knowing what they could reach after getting in matters more.

Getting past EDR is rarely all or nothing. An attacker does not need to disappear. They just need to weaken one part of your visibility.

That is how your EDR can look like it is working perfectly, while an attacker is already blinding it. 🔎

So the real question is not "did something get through?" It is whether the alerts you still get are enough to notice, investigate, and react in time.

A green console and full coverage prove EDR is deployed, not that it would hold up when someone puts it to the test.

Our latest article shows how modern EDR evasion works, what defenders can still see, and what it means for your security. The goal is not to prove EDR can be beaten — it is to show where your visibility breaks, and whether you can still stop the attack.

A green dashboard looks reassuring, and we often believe it means we are safe. ✅ But a green screen is not the same as real safety.

Installing EDR only proves one thing: the tool is there. It does not prove the tool can stop a real attacker who is trying to avoid it. So the real question for every security leader is simple: 👉 how do we know our EDR works when someone is really trying to get past it?

"It is installed" is not an answer. It is only a hope. The only way to be sure is to test it — to see what the tool detects, what it misses, and whether your team can react in time. 🔎

This week, we explain what EDR bypass means for security leaders, and why "deployed" and "proven" are not the same thing. Follow us!
