What does Multifors 3 look like when put to the test with a demanding microbial fermentation?
Xavier Garcia Ortega and the team at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona tested Multifors 3 with high-density Pichia pastoris fermentations, evaluating the platform across demanding process requirements, complex fermentation strategies, and process monitoring.

“After testing the Multifors 3 with our highly demanding Pichia pastoris fermentations, we are very pleased with its performance. Our processes require high oxygen transfer rates and efficient heat removal, and the system has allowed us to achieve very high cell densities consistently. The twin architecture helps us obtain results fast-er and accelerate process development. We also highly appreciate the versatility of the eve® software, which allows us to program very complex fermentation strategies and implement real-time soft sensors for improved process monitoring and under-standing.
