Congratulations to Benjamin Daniel, the winner and Promega Team's choice of our Art + Science 2025 contest with the artwork 'Never alone' 🥇🏅

Benjamin's artwork showcases imprints of the microorganisms that colonize plant leaves on agar plates. It reminds us to admire the beauty of the whole, especially when focusing on individual parts, and that no living thing is ever truly alone.

What can samples from sub-Saharan Africa reveal about triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC)? A new study expands our understanding of this highly aggressive form of breast cancer by identifying novel TP53 mutations and potential new driver genes. The study also found a high prevalence of regulatory mutations within UTRs and other cis-regulatory elements, highlighting the importance of expanding cancer genomic studies to include non-coding regions. In this study, extraction with the Maxwell® RSC Instrument enabled consistent recovery of high-quality DNA from FFPE samples, which is a crucial first step for whole-genome sequencing and whole-exome sequencing analysis.
