David the Explorer-

Every year I do something special to honor my twin brother on our special birthday April 26. This year I recognize and honor him as THE EXPLORER. Which he was 🌏! David became a member of the prestigious Explores Club on May 19, 2007. They have 3,500 members worldwide. That’s it. It’s a true honor to be accepted into this Club. And, not an easy process. David applied and was accepted into the Explorers Club for his accomplished expeditions in Bolivia.

Individuals eligible for membership are those who engage in or support field science expeditions aimed at exploring unfamiliar or poorly understood locations or phenomena, with the goal of acquiring knowledge for the benefit of humanity. The focus is on individuals who have gained practical experience by actively participating in fieldwork as participants in one or more documented scientific expeditions.

The Explorers Club members include many famous explorers from Silvia Earle exploring oceans to Neil Armstrong the first to land on the moon, film director James Cameron, Space-X and Tesla founder Elon Musk, President Teddy Roosevelt, aviator Charles Lindbergh, the Piccard Swiss family of adventurers holding a world record with hot air balloons. And, David Korponai for his expeditions in Bolivia.

The Explorers Club is a multidisciplinary, professional society dedicated to the advancement of field research, scientific exploration and resource conservation. The first written mention of the explorers club was April 1904. The Explorers Club partnered with the Discovery Channel to produce a series called “Tales from The Explorers Club”.

I have been blessed to run into members of the Explorers Club over the years and when I meet them I share the stories of my brother. Stay tuned, maybe one day David and his accomplishments will be recognized at one of the annual Explorer Club galas in New York sharing the tale of David exploring the ruins and mountains of Bolivia. 🌏👍🙏💯😎

Every year at the World Economic Forum the Goals House displays a wide variety of products with a cause.

From Bono”s product (RED) benefiting AIDS solutions to the friendship bracelets raising awareness around the SDGs to Loci wear shoes to move with purpose to Bill Gates book on How To Avoid A Climate Disaster to the Ocean Bottle reusable water bottle which with ever purchase a consumer will fund the collection of 1000 ocean-bound plastic bottles before they enter the ocean to PANGAIA exploring the future of materials to Choose Love.

I had the honor of meeting Wyclef in 2018 at an event in Montenegro with Akon and rapper Eve.

It was great to see Wyclef again in 2024 at the World Economic Forum.

He is the recipient of three Grammy Awards, the BET Humanitarian Award, and a Vanguard Award from the NAACP Image Awards, in addition to being nominated for a Golden Globe Award for his musical work. In 2011, President Michel Martelly of Haiti awarded Jean with the National Order of Honour and Merit to the rank of Grand Officer.

I had a chance encounter with Wildlife photographer Sabri Dri from Kurdistan.

During the World Economic Forum not only was he capturing photos of government officials but he was in the mountains capturing the birds of Davos, Switzerland.

After all, nature was a well covered topic during the Forum.

AI was a hot topic at the World Economic Forum. Many panels, people, spaces and speakers discussed AI and the future.

OpenAI founder and CEO Sam Altman spoke about the potential for artificial general intelligence (AGI), saying: “It will change the world much less than we all think and it will change jobs much less than we all think.”

He said AGI could be developed in the “reasonably close-ish future,” speaking at a private gathering at the Bloomberg House in Davos, Switzerland.

Altman also described being fired from OpenAI as “wild,” saying he felt “super confused” and was “super caught off guard.” Concerns over AI safety and OpenAI’s role in protecting were at the center of Altman’s brief ouster from the company.

This is my 11th year at the World Economic Forum from the official agenda to the unofficial agenda. Diving deeper into the Sustainable Development Goals and exploring global trends. AI and climate change were hot topics this year.

I feel blessed. It’s a privilege.
It’s like coming home.
