Hes-so Team - Rexus/Bexus A group of Students from different Schools in Switzerland (HEIA-FR and HEPIA) looking into the stars

The REXUS/BEXUS programme is realised under a bilateral Agency Agreement between the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Swedish National Space Board (SNSB). The Swedish share of the payload has been made available to students from other European countries through the collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA). Experts from DLR, SSC, ZARM and ESA provide technical support to the student

teams throughout the project. EuroLaunch, the cooperation between the Esrange Space Center of SSC and the Mobile Rocket Base (MORABA) of DLR, is responsible for the campaign management and operations of the launch vehicles. ARES experiment is focused on behavior of propellant inside capillarity based devices so called PMD sponges. It studies axial retention of liquid on those devices and compares it with CFD simulations. The experiment is possible with the support of our sponsors Ruag Space Nyon, Maxon motors and Bobst.

We regret to inform you that due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 situation, the REXUS 27/28 campaign has been postponed.
The HADES team will not go to Kiruna next week and the HADES experiment will not be launched in march 2020.

We are really sad but understand the decision taken by the organisers. We will keep you updated about any news for possible launch windows.

This week Hades is at the in Munich to perform bench tests. This is the last step before shipping the payload to Sweden and launching it in space! The whole rocket is mounted (minus the motor) and launch simulations are run to ensure everything works perfectly whatever the situation.

BIG NEWS!!

Next week we will hold not one, but TWO conferences about our experiment! One will take place at HEIA-FR in Fribourg on Monday, the second at HEPIA in Geneva on Tuesday. During the event, you will be able to learn more about the successful HES-SO REXUS experiments from the current and past students who made them.
Furthermore a SPECIAL GUEST, ESA engineer Koen De Beule will talk about his work at as a "last resort problem solver". Do not miss it!

On the 23rd of September, HADES was invited by the Inovation Club Fribourg to talk about their experiment during the first part of NASA astronaut Jeffrey Hoffman's conference.
The evening was an absolute blast to say the least! Jeffrey Hoffman's talk was really inspiring, fun and interesting and Hades had a stand during the apéro for people to come and see our hardware. We'd like to thank the Innovation Club for this absolutely perfect evening and Mr Hoffman for his interest in our experiment and encouraging words.

HADES will be presenting their experiment during Jeffrey Hoffman's conference at Fribourg university this Monday 23rd. We will have the opportunity to share the microphone with a NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration astronaut who logged more than 20 million miles in space during 5 Space Shuttle mission.

Aaaand here it is! The HADES capsule's stabilisation system is powered on and our system works amazingly well! We are so proud of this step towards the launch in March 2020.
