There is a word my people gave the world long before leadership became an industry. ❤️
Ubuntu. I am because we are.
It is a quiet refusal of the idea that any of us is self-made. That we pulled ourselves up alone, by some private act of will. Ubuntu says the opposite. It says you are who you are because of every hand that held you, every woman who saw you before you could see yourself, every door someone opened so you could walk through it.
This is the soil My Sister’s Keeper grows from.
Because somewhere along the way, women were handed a smaller story. That there is one seat at the table and we must fight each other for it. That her brilliance dims yours. That to protect your place, you must guard it closely and let no one else near.
We have lived long enough to know that story is a lie.
The truth is that your rise was never a threat to mine. The truth is that when one of us is equipped and supported, all of us move. The truth is that I cannot keep you if I have not kept myself, and I cannot keep myself in isolation. I need you. We need each other.
That is the Keeper Ethic. And it is not a theme we perform in September and forget by October. It is how we choose to gather all year long.
Swipe through for the heart of it.
And if it stirs something in you, come live it with us.
Our next Hub Afterwork is Thursday 25 June, here in Geneva.
Not networking. Sisterhood, in a room, in real life.
Comment HUB and we will send you everything you need. 💜❤️
And guess what, it is FREE!!!
