🎓 Showstop Procedure Course : Deciding, coordinating and communicating a showstop
🗓️ 16 October 2026
📍 Lyon, LDLC Arena
When a show needs to stop, who makes the decision — and is your organisation ready to act?
The Pink Bows Foundation was established following the tragedy at Astroworld Festival in Houston in November 2021, which claimed the lives of 10 people. Its mission is clear: to help ensure that everyone attending an event can return home safely.
To support this mission, the Foundation partnered with Steve Allen and Mark Hamilton to develop the Showstop Procedure, a professional certification course designed to prepare event professionals for one of the most difficult decisions they may have to make.
The course provides practical tools to:
✅ establish a clear decision-making and command structure before the event
✅ recognise and assess warning signs that may require a show to be interrupted
✅ coordinate organisers, safety and security teams, production and artist representatives when a critical decision has to be made
✅ communicate effectively with the audience and manage the consequences of a showstop

Already delivered to event professionals internationally, the Showstop Procedure is now expanding further across Europe.
As a partner in the Showstop Procedure project, iSSUE is proud to take another step in its European development by organising, after four sold-out sessions in Switzerland, the first session of the course in France. Aimed at a European audience, this one-day course will take place on 🗓️ 16 October 2026 at 📍LDLC Arena in Lyon, alongside the European meeting of Arenas Europe, and will be delivered in English.
The course will be led by Pascal Viot, Director of iSSUE, together with Morten Therkildsen, Director of Safety and Guest Relations at Roskilde Festival. Both have been involved in the Showstop project since its early stages and are members of the Pink Bows Foundation Advisory Board.
For iSSUE, it is a great pleasure and a real source of pride to contribute to bringing this programme to a wider European audience and to strengthening the way our industry prepares, decides and acts when stopping a show becomes necessary.
