Many people think their fertility journey begins the moment they decide to try for a baby.

But your reproductive story started years before that.

đź©· From your first period and menstrual patterns to your medical history, family history and life experiences, every chapter contributes information that can help build a clearer picture of your reproductive health.

This doesn’t mean your past determines your future.

Far from it.

🤍 It simply reminds us that fertility is rarely explained by one blood test, one cycle or one appointment.

Instead, fertility is often about understanding the bigger picture and recognising the patterns that make your story unique.

The more you understand your body and your reproductive health, the more empowered you can feel to ask questions, make informed decisions and advocate for yourself throughout your journey.

🌱 Every chapter matters. Every piece of the puzzle adds context. And every step forward begins with understanding your story.

Many people imagine that a brand-new egg appears every month.

That’s not actually what happens.

🥚 Each cycle, several follicles begin developing within the ovaries, but usually only one becomes dominant and releases an egg during ovulation.

What surprises many people is that this process begins months before ovulation takes place.

That’s one reason fertility specialists often encourage patience when making nutrition and lifestyle changes.

🌱 The reproductive system works on a timeline that can’t always be measured in days or even a single cycle.

If you’ve recently started making positive changes, remember:

Progress isn’t always immediate, but that doesn’t mean nothing is happening.

Your ovaries are constantly working behind the scenes, and fertility is often a journey measured over time rather than by a single month.

When people think about fertility, they often focus on hormones, ovulation or nutrition.

đź’Š Medications are frequently overlooked.

Many people don’t mention them because they assume they’re unrelated to fertility—but your healthcare team needs the full picture to provide the safest and most appropriate guidance.

While most medications do not cause infertility, some may influence factors such as ovulation, hormone levels, s***m production or libido.

That doesn’t mean you should stop taking them.

🤍 In fact, it’s important not to make changes to prescribed medication without speaking to your healthcare provider first.

The goal isn’t to stop treatment.

It’s to ensure every aspect of your health is considered when creating a plan that’s right for you.

When discussing male fertility, most people are familiar with semen analysis results such as s***m count, movement and shape.

But what many couples don’t realise is that a standard semen analysis does not assess DNA integrity within the s***m.

🧬 This is where s***m DNA fragmentation testing may sometimes provide additional information.

For certain couples—particularly those experiencing recurrent miscarriage, repeated IVF failure, unexplained infertility or advanced paternal age—it may be a worthwhile conversation to have with their fertility specialist.

That doesn’t mean everyone needs this test.

The most appropriate investigations depend on your individual circumstances and the wider fertility picture.

🤝 Fertility is rarely explained by a single result. The goal is to gather the right information, at the right time, to help guide your next steps.

💌 If you’d like personalised support understanding fertility investigations and what may be relevant to your situation, send me a DM.

Every menstrual cycle is an incredible sequence of carefully coordinated events.

🧠 Your brain sends signals.

🌱 Follicles begin developing.

🥚 An egg matures and is released.

🤍 Your uterus prepares for the possibility of pregnancy.

All before a pregnancy test could ever turn positive.

If pregnancy doesn’t happen that cycle, it doesn’t mean your body has failed.

In many cases, it means your body has completed the complex process it was designed to perform and is ready to begin again.

For women trying to conceive, it’s easy to become focused on the outcome of a single cycle.

But fertility is often about understanding the bigger picture and recognising the remarkable work your body is already doing behind the scenes.

Knowledge can turn frustration into understanding, and understanding can be incredibly empowering.

Fertility appointments can feel overwhelming.

Many people leave with pages of notes, new terminology and even more questions than they had when they arrived.

Sometimes, asking the right question can be more valuable than another late-night Google search.

🩺 The goal isn’t to become your own fertility specialist.

It’s to make sure you leave your appointment with clarity, confidence and a better understanding of your next steps.

These are some of the questions fertility specialists often wish more patients would ask because they can lead to more meaningful conversations and better-informed decisions.

When women are trying to conceive, it’s easy to focus on supplements, fertility teas and the latest wellness trends.

But one of the most commonly under-consumed nutrients I see is protein.

🍳 Protein does far more than support muscle. It also contributes to hormone production, blood sugar regulation, satiety and provides important nutrients such as iron, zinc, choline and vitamin B12.

The good news? Fertility nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes the most powerful changes aren’t found in another supplement bottle—they’re found on your plate.

🌱 Strong foundations first. Everything else builds from there.

Have you ever been told your AMH level and immediately wondered what it means for your fertility?

You’re not alone.

AMH is often treated like a fertility score, but that’s a misunderstanding that causes unnecessary anxiety for many women.

While AMH can provide valuable information about ovarian reserve, it cannot predict whether you’ll conceive naturally, determine egg quality, or tell you exactly what your fertility journey will look like.

🧩 Fertility is rarely about a single number.

The most meaningful interpretation comes from looking at AMH alongside factors such as age, ovulation, hormone health, s***m quality and medical history.

Understanding the full picture helps you make informed decisions with confidence rather than fear.

Thinking about booking your first fertility appointment?

Many people worry they’ll arrive unprepared or won’t know what to ask. The reality is that your first appointment is designed to gather information, identify possible next steps, and help create a plan that’s right for you.

You don’t need to have all the answers before you walk through the door.

Understanding what to expect can help you feel more confident, informed, and empowered throughout your fertility journey.

💌 If you’d like personalised support on your fertility journey, send us a DM and we’d be happy to help ✨🤍

When you are trying to get pregnant,
it is easy to start analysing everything.

Every cycle.
Every symptom.
Every detail.

And over time, normal things can start to feel like problems 🌀

Because you are looking so closely
and expecting everything to line up perfectly.

But the reality is,
not everything that feels “off” actually is.

There is a wide range of what is normal 🌿

And part of this process is learning
what needs attention…
and what does not.

Because not every delay, change, or variation
means something is wrong 🤍
