UN CC:Learn Investing in People and Learning to Foster A Climate Resilient and Green Transition - The One UN Clim
(2)

The One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership (UN CC:Learn), a collaborative initiative involving over 30 multilateral organizations, supports action on climate change education and learning at all levels, including children, youth and adults, through a One UN approach. UN CC:Learn works both globally, promoting knowledge-sharing and providing free access to a wide range of resources, as well as

participating in international endeavors, and nationally, collaborating with Governments, UN country teams and education and training institutions. The Secretariat for UN CC:Learn is provided by the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). The initiative was launched at the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Change Summit. UN CC:Learn is included in the "One UN Climate Change Action Framework" of the UN System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB). The CEB framework aims at maximizing existing synergies, eliminating duplication and optimizing the impact of the collective effort of UN organizations in combatting climate change. UN CC:Learn contributes to the implementation of Article 6 of the UNFCCC on training, education and public awareness-raising, and the Doha Work Programme. UN CC:Learn Objectives

At the global level, UN CC:Learn seeks to foster knowledge-sharing and UN collaboration in designing, delivering and evaluating climate change learning activities and materials. At the national level, UN CC:Learn supports a strategic and results-oriented approach to climate change learning through multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Activity Areas

UN CC:Learn is implemented through three Programme Areas which build on and are closely linked to each other. They include:
(1) Knowledge Management and Networking
(2) Development of a One UN Climate Change Training Package - find our free Introductory e-course on climate change at unccelearn.org! (3) Human Resources, Learning and Skills Development in Partner Countries

We keep treating poverty and the environment as separate to-do lists.

The numbers say otherwise: 685 million people live in extreme poverty, and roughly 70% of them rely on natural resources to get by — the very resources we're depleting fastest. You can't fix one side of that equation while ignoring the other.

"Introduction to Sustainable Development in Practice" makes the case for an integrated approach — and shows what it looks like on the ground. It's the first course in a two-part Sustainable Development in Practice series from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the United Nations Development Programme - UNDP and UN Environment Programme Poverty-Environment Action programme.

Four self-paced modules, about two hours total:

→ Why poverty and environment can't be untangled
→ What's driving integration — globally, nationally, locally
→ Real challenges and opportunities from country case studies
→ How to build it into the policy cycles you already work with

Extremely useful if you're in policy, development practice, or simply driving change in your own context.

🌿 Nature is one of our most powerful allies against the triple planetary crisis. Healthy ecosystems don't just sustain life — they shield communities from climate risk, strengthen livelihoods, and deliver benefits that ripple across our economies, societies, and environment.

But for too long, nature has been left out of national planning. It's time to change that. 🌍

"Building climate resilience through Ecosystem-based Adaptation planning" shows you how to bring nature to the heart of climate adaptation — by integrating Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) into National Adaptation Plans (NAPs).

Across 3 self-paced modules, you'll learn to:

✅ Understand how ecosystems reduce climate risk and support development goals
✅ Integrate EbA into every stage of the NAP process — formulation, implementation & review
✅ Tackle the real-world challenges of mainstreaming EbA into planning

🌏 What if scaling climate finance didn't require trillions from your budget — just the right knowledge to unlock it?

The finance to tackle climate change is out there. The challenge is knowing how to access it, coordinate it, and direct it where it's needed most. That's a skill — and it's one you can build.

In about 7 hours, the Scaling Climate Finance e-course gives you the knowledge and tools to mobilise finance for climate action across five modules:

1️⃣ What climate finance is and why it matters
2️⃣ Making public finance go further for climate action
3️⃣ Mobilising private and innovative finance — tapping into the estimated $210 trillion the private sector manages globally
4️⃣ Financing a climate plan through a hands-on scenario
5️⃣ Scaling climate-smart public investment management

Throughout, the course applies a gender equality and social inclusion lens, so the finance you help unlock reaches the most at-risk and vulnerable populations.

🌍 Climate action needs more women at the table — and in the lead.

Women and girls are on the front lines of the climate crisis, yet remain underrepresented in the decisions that shape our response to it. Our free online course, Developing Skills for Women Leadership in Climate Action, is here to help change that.

Whether you're just beginning your climate journey or looking to strengthen a project already underway, this self-paced course equips you with the knowledge and practical tools to lead climate initiatives rooted in inclusivity and equity.

Across four modules, you'll:

✅ Understand climate science and the foundations of inclusive climate action
✅ Explore how climate change affects women — and the central role they play in solutions
✅ Identify opportunities and plan effective, equitable climate projects
✅ Build the skills to influence others and rally support for your ideas

Developed by United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and C40 Cities, with the exclusive support of the Fondation L'Oréal and knowledge contributions from the Columbia Climate School and CARE.

🌍 Climate change is one of the greatest risks to peace and security in the 21st century.

Droughts, rising sea levels, and extreme weather are increasingly compounding the drivers of insecurity, especially in conflict-affected settings, leaving vulnerable communities on the frontlines of multiple, intersecting crises.

Our self-paced course "Climate Change, Peace and Security: Understanding Climate-Related Security Risks Through an Integrated Lens" helps you make sense of these interlinkages and act on them.

In just 4.5 hours, you will learn how to:

✅ Identify climate-related security risks and their impacts on different groups of people
✅ Conduct integrated conflict and climate analysis, with a gender and social inclusion lens
✅ Design policies and interventions that bring together climate action, peacebuilding, and gender equality

Designed for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers, including political analysts, climate adaptation specialists, and gender and inclusion advisors.

Climate action works better when it works for everyone. 🌍

The impacts of climate change fall hardest on those who are already marginalized, including women, youth, people with disabilities, and minority groups. Yet these are often the same voices excluded from the decisions and opportunities that shape our collective response to this global challenge.

That's why we developed our e-course on Gender Equality and Human Rights in Climate Action and Renewable Energy in partnership with the UN Environment Programme and UN Women.

In three modules, learners will:

✅ Understand the nexus between gender, human rights, climate change & renewable energy
✅ Apply gender-responsive and human rights-based approaches in climate policy
✅ Identify opportunities for women in renewable energy entrepreneurship & finance
✅ Translate international commitments into national priorities and action

Two tailored learning pathways are available:

🔹 For renewable energy professionals & financial institutions
🔹 For climate change & green economy policymakers
