UN CC:Learn Investing in People and Learning to Foster A Climate Resilient and Green Transition - The One UN Clim
(2)

The One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership (UN CC:Learn), a collaborative initiative involving over 30 multilateral organizations, supports action on climate change education and learning at all levels, including children, youth and adults, through a One UN approach. UN CC:Learn works both globally, promoting knowledge-sharing and providing free access to a wide range of resources, as well as

participating in international endeavors, and nationally, collaborating with Governments, UN country teams and education and training institutions. The Secretariat for UN CC:Learn is provided by the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). The initiative was launched at the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Change Summit. UN CC:Learn is included in the "One UN Climate Change Action Framework" of the UN System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB). The CEB framework aims at maximizing existing synergies, eliminating duplication and optimizing the impact of the collective effort of UN organizations in combatting climate change. UN CC:Learn contributes to the implementation of Article 6 of the UNFCCC on training, education and public awareness-raising, and the Doha Work Programme. UN CC:Learn Objectives

At the global level, UN CC:Learn seeks to foster knowledge-sharing and UN collaboration in designing, delivering and evaluating climate change learning activities and materials. At the national level, UN CC:Learn supports a strategic and results-oriented approach to climate change learning through multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder collaboration. Activity Areas

UN CC:Learn is implemented through three Programme Areas which build on and are closely linked to each other. They include:
(1) Knowledge Management and Networking
(2) Development of a One UN Climate Change Training Package - find our free Introductory e-course on climate change at unccelearn.org! (3) Human Resources, Learning and Skills Development in Partner Countries

🌱 This World Environment Day, we are reminded that sustainability must be at the heart of the decisions and investments that shape our future.

Through country-led partnerships, supports governments in integrating green and circular economy principles into economic policies, planning frameworks, and investment decisions.

In , this approach helped embed green growth priorities into national development planning, strengthen climate-responsive public finance tools, and improve environmental monitoring systems. By integrating sustainability into the policies and institutions that guide development, Rwanda is advancing a more coordinated and accountable approach to low-carbon and climate-resilient growth.

By helping align economic development with environmental sustainability and social inclusion, these efforts contribute to a just, circular, and green economic transformation that benefits both people and planet.

What gets measured shapes what gets done. 💡

As countries work towards greener and more inclusive economies, the ability to track progress is becoming just as important as setting the right policies.

Without the right indicators, it is difficult to understand what is working, where gaps remain, and how to adjust strategies to deliver real results.

The “Indicators for an Inclusive Green Economy: Introductory Course” helps you build that foundation.

What you can expect:
• 4 modules covering concepts, frameworks, measurement approaches and indicator selection
• Around 2 hours of self-paced learning
• Interactive lessons with practical examples and quizzes
• A clear introduction to applying indicator frameworks in real policy contexts
• A digital certificate upon successful completion

You will learn how indicators support policymaking, how to select the right frameworks, and how to build monitoring systems that reflect national priorities and support the Sustainable Development Goals.

Whether you work in policy, statistics, development or research, this course provides practical insights to help you measure progress towards a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

The ocean covers more than 70 percent of our planet and supports the livelihoods of billions of people. 🌊

Yet it is under growing pressure from pollution, overfishing, and climate change, while many of the communities most connected to the ocean remain underrepresented in decision-making.

What if part of the solution lies beyond science and policy alone? 💡

The “Art and the Stewardship of the Ocean” e-course explores how art can transform how we understand, communicate, and govern the ocean.

What you can expect:
• 3 modules exploring ocean governance, community knowledge and art-based approaches
• Around 4 hours of self-paced learning
• Interactive content including case studies, videos and reflection exercises
• Practical tools to apply art in decision-making and policy processes
• A digital certificate upon successful completion
