Happy Easter weekend, everyone! Enjoy the little short story that expands on "Discover the Future" with an Easter twist 😉
What would happen if the most powerful character in your novel met a talking rabbit? I love this author challenge. See my post on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/CcUukSVMxYG/ - in German) or read and enjoy the English version here!

A warm wind blew down from the mighty mountain range over the wide plain and created waves in the short, densely growing grass. Awkwardly, a small creature hopped around, leaving colorful spots. Suddenly, it stopped. “Hello, Nature,” the Easter bunny whispered.
Nature stumbled. She was used to a lot of talk about her, but who was that addressing her directly? She traced the sound waves to their origin. Ah, there! “Hello!” she said. “I know you. You are a product of the humans. What brings you here?”
“Humans from Earth have asked me to talk to you.”
“Humans from Earth,” Nature thundered and frowned with her clouds.
The rabbit flattened its ears. “Not so loud!”
“I’m sorry,” whispered Nature. “And why should you talk to me?”
“I'm supposed to talk to someone powerful. That's all I know,” replied the rabbit. “Now I have work to do.” He straightened up again and made a long jump.
“Wait,” whispered Nature, letting a gust of wind caress the rabbit's fur and sending a few warming rays of sunshine behind. The Easter Bunny wobbled with its back and turned around. Nature wondered. ‘Interesting that this rabbit can speak and I understand him. In addition, I had not planned any animals for Blue-Allium. What's going on?’
“That's something the Humans came up with. They call it fantasy. Imagination makes everything possible. I can also read your mind,” she heard the Easter bunny explain.
“Tell me more about it,” Nature said curiously.
“Look at me. A rabbit distributing eggs, with a basket on its back. Your laws certainly don't provide for that! Luckily, I must only think of dropping an egg and it happens.”
“I will make use of that gift,” Nature stated resolutely.
The Easter Bunny nervously twitched its nostrils. “Dropping eggs?”
“No ....” Nature laughed wholeheartedly, clapping waves against the nearby lakeshore. “I like this planet. I would like to retire here. The local settlers appreciate me. I have had enough of constantly recovering from pollution on other planets. In addition, I’ve caused far too many disasters most recently. Do you think that's fun? For eons, ...” She stopped and looked at the rabbit. “It’s not your fault.”
“And what are you up to now?” asked the rabbit, dropping another egg while it spoke.
“I'll send you to another powerful being. I’ll tell you what to do ...” Nature whispered the details into the fluffy animal’s spoon-like ears. “Now, go to the KOOG’s home planet.”
The Easter bunny disappeared.
(Many light-years away)
“Who laid this egg for me, uh, hacked me?” Igen, the intelligence of the highest order, studied the strange code she had just received.
“I bring you a message from Nature on Blue-Allium,” mumbled the virtual image of the Easter bunny. Igen listened, took mental notes (or something similar), and made a decision.

Maybe the Easter bunny is the reason why the settlers on the remote planet Blue-Allium begin to discover their future?
Happy Easter, everyone!
