Continuous learning and strong industry partnerships are what drive precision aquaculture forward.

At World Aquaculture Singapore, The Aqua Consortium's leadership team, Dr. Dr. Ra'anan Ariav'anan Ariav (CEO) and Dr. Eran Hadas (CTO), had a fantastic knowledge-sharing session with Shweta Tiwari (Formulator) and Richard Chong (Commercial Director) from Anpario plc.

Anpario is well-known for its high-quality, innovative feed additives, and this meeting was a great opportunity to dive deep into their latest health and nutrition solutions. For us, staying at the cutting edge of formulation science is essential to delivering the best biosecurity, gut health, and performance strategies to our clients worldwide.

When global consulting expertise meets advanced product innovation, the result is a more resilient, sustainable aquaculture industry. Thank you, Shweta and Richard, for the insightful exchange!

Great strategic discussions yesterday at Singapore!

Our leadership team, Dr. Ra'anan Ariav (CEO) and Dr. Eran Hadas (CTO), sat down with Yin Min Thant (Marketing Director at ShrimpVet ) and Long Nguyen (CTO of EcoSeaFood).

The focus of the meeting? Accelerating the implementation of advanced solutions and targeted products specifically tailored for the Vietnamese shrimp sector. Vietnam is a critical global hub for aquaculture, and addressing its unique operational and health challenges requires strong synergy between cutting-edge technology, practical on-farm application, and robust market distribution.

By combining The Aqua Consortium’s global consulting and technical expertise with the deep local market insights and technical capabilities of leaders like Shrimpvet and EcoSeaFood, we are paving the way for more resilient, sustainable, and high-yielding shrimp farming practices in the region.

Thank you, Yin Min and Long, for an incredibly productive session. The future of precision aquaculture in Southeast Asia looks brighter than ever!

Available tech is no longer the differentiator. Leadership is.

We’ve reached a point where access to AI, automated systems, and advanced tech is no longer a bottleneck. The tools are widely available to almost anyone in the industry. But simply adopting them doesn't create a competitive advantage anymore; the real differentiator is how we integrate them into our daily operations.

An AI model or a smart sensor can process variables at incredible speeds, but it lacks context. It doesn't understand the nuance of a specific site, the history of a team, or the unpredictable nature of biological systems. The most sophisticated tool is still just a support mechanism for the person calling the shots.

The goal shouldn't be to let technology dictate the business, but to use it to sharpen human intuition. The real value happens at the intersection of advanced tech and boots-on-the-ground experience—where data meets real-world problem-solving.

At The Aqua Consortium, we focus on this exact balance. Our management services are designed to help companies navigate both the business and technical decisions needed to turn available technology into clear, productive, and structured operational progress.

Technology can give us the numbers, but human expertise still drives the strategy.

How is your organization ensuring that your teams stay in control of the technology you deploy?

In terms of human food calorie production, agriculture remains the “big brother” of livestock production, while aquaculture still appears to be in its infancy.

From a producer perspective, however, the picture looks very different when considering the value that can be created. Economically, innovation is often associated with the creation of high-value products and efficient resource utilization.

Land-based aquaculture business models can deliver innovation for agricultural producers in many ways. Growing demand for circular-economy solutions and climate-smart protein production increasingly favors sustainable aquaculture systems.

At the intersection of aquaculture and agricultural transition, one particularly interesting opportunity is the transformation of lower-value agricultural or livestock production into innovative, best-in-class aquaculture production of high-value animal protein in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS).

What does it actually take to repurpose existing agricultural infrastructure — such as pig production facilities — effectively? The greatest benefits in terms of revenue generation, sustainability, land use efficiency and carbon footprint reduction depend on making smart choices regarding location, cultured species, energy sourcing and value-added product strategies.

This also expands the discussion toward broader protein diversification strategies, including sustainable aquaculture production models, energy and carbon benchmarking, feed and land-use efficiency, advanced nutrient management and effective water reuse.

The Aqua Consortium contributes to this transition by supporting technology-driven aquaculture innovation close to the consumer and helping unlock opportunities that are still often untapped.
