Delighted to share a wonderful recognition in London: The cookbook «Cuisine Mondiale» received an Award of Excellence in the Cookbooks category at the International Creative Media Awards (ICMA). I had the pleasure of designing the book through Studio Bitterli, for Christoph Merian Verlag on behalf of Atelier Mondial, Switzerland’s oldest and largest artist exchange program. Although the CMV and Atelier Mondial team couldn’t attend, I was honored to represent the project in London.

Cuisine Mondiale brings together 30 artists from 23 countries, presenting both their art and favorite recipes — a unique encounter of art and cooking, creativity and experimentation, reflecting personal experiences and cultural exchange.

Ich freue mich sehr, eine wunderbare Auszeichnung in London bekannt zu geben: Das Kochbuch «Cuisine Mondiale» wurde bei den International Creative Media Awards (ICMA) mit einem «Award of Excellence» in der Kategorie «Kochbücher» ausgezeichnet. Ich hatte das Vergnügen, das Buch über Studio Bitterli für den Christoph Merian Verlag im Auftrag von Atelier Mondial, dem ältesten und grössten Künstleraustauschprogramm der Schweiz, zu gestalten. Obwohl das CMV- und Atelier Mondial-Team nicht teilnehmen konnten, war es mir eine Ehre, das Projekt in London zu vertreten.

Cuisine Mondiale vereint 30 Künstler aus 23 Ländern und präsentiert sowohl ihre Kunst als auch ihre Lieblingsrezepte – eine einzigartige Begegnung von Kunst und Kochen, Kreativität und Experimentierfreude, die persönliche Erfahrungen und kulturellen Austausch widerspiegelt.

Vielen Dank an alle, die an diesem Projekt beteiligt waren, für ihre Zusammenarbeit und Inspiration!

Deeply moved and saddened, we say goodbye to

June 14, 1952 – December 11, 2025
Kate passed away peacefully and self-determined after a full and creative life, having borne her illness with dignity. We are grateful for all the precious moments we were able to share with her. Kate will always remain in our hearts.

Book Launch at I Never Read – Art Book Fair

I’m very pleased to share that the book Cuisine Mondiale, which I had the pleasure of designing, will be publicly presented for the first time at I Never Read during Art Basel. Commissioned by the Atelier Mondial and created in collaboration with Christoph Merian Verlag, the publication brings together artworks and favorite recipes from 30 artists across 22 countries. It offers a unique perspective on the intersection of art and cooking as forms of creative, experimental, and communal practice – featuring contributions by Ighsaan Adams, Sandra Knecht, Victoria Lomasko, Monica Studer/Christoph van den Berg, among others.

Was ist Wahnsinn?
Wahnsinn lässt sich teilen.
Wahnsinn ist dividierbar und multiplizierbar.
Man lernt Wahnsinn am besten kennen,
wenn man sich von ihm entfernt.
Wahnsinn ist Politik.

Dada ist gegen Politik, weil gegen Wahnsinn.
Politik steht im Weichbild unserer Zeit.
Möge selbiges Bild bald weichen und
unserer Zeit freien Raum lassen.

In diesen unruhigen Zeiten des Wahnsinns hoffe ich, dass ihr über die Festtage zur Ruhe kommen könnt. Die Worte von Kurt Schwitters erinnern uns daran, dass Wahnsinn in der Teilung liegt und dass es wichtig ist, sich von ihm zu distanzieren, 
um ihn wirklich zu verstehen.

A family and company history had to be designed in a book-form. The story of Alexander Hawrylenko is linked to the story of his company Infors HT which is founded 1965. It started as a one-man operated company to a global player in laboratory equipment. It was a pleasure to work woth Barbara (Text, concept), Ekki Heinrich from Gremper Druck and Basil (photography) together. The book suggest both innovation and timeless quality through the use of typography, interplay with black and white space, the color orange as a subtle accent and the use of high-quality images.

These pictures of my grandfather Emil are a little older. Unfortunately, he passed away a few years ago. Nevertheless, I am so glad to have made this analog photoseries of him and the nice thing is that we spent time together. People, spend enough time with your loved ones!

During my designer in residence at Ohio University's School of Art and Design, I created three posters on the topic of climate change or visualizing the consequences of global warming. They show glacier melt, sea level rise, drought, and animal extinction.

These posters are not just for the design community and academic research purposes. They are also aimed at the general public to change the perception of this issue for good.
