📢 We could not be more proud to announce that the USDA has selected and signed the ECOM USA, LLC’s grant proposal, Climate-Smart Cotton through a Sustainable and Innovative Supply Chain Approach, as part of the USDA’s Partnership for Climate-Smart Commodities🎉.

As said by Darren Long, Deputy CEO of ECOM USA, “we are excited to lead a Climate-Smart Commodities Grant program along with our partners, and look forward to connecting U.S. farmers and ginners, textile mills and brands to deliver certified sustainable, traceable cotton with data that the market needs.
This is a tremendous opportunity for farmers to be rewarded for the work they're doing to create more climate friendly cotton, and for mills and brands to help drive and showcase the improvements being made to cotton production practices and the supply chain".

Our project partners include Quarterway Cotton Growers, Earthworm Foundation, Texas A&M AgriLife, University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension, Control Union USA, 5Loc Cotton, and more to be announced soon.

"Do you know the cocoa process from the field to our final products? 🍫

Our ECOM COCOA MÉXICO team reveals the process, taking you on the journey from cacao pod to product.

⬇️ Our journey starts in Chiapas and Tabasco, where local farmers take care of the plantation, harvest and deliver cocoa beans to our origin operations.
⬇️ After this, the beans are delivered to our state-of-the-art processing facility in Veracruz, where we process beans from different origins.
⬇️ This is where we carefully roast, winnow and grind the beans, processing them into cocoa liquor, butter or powder.
⬇️ Finally, at Veracruz our customers are also invited to join us to try our products in their final applications.

By collaborating directly with farmers, workers and local communities at each step, we aim to improve livelihoods, regenerate land and support agroforestry practices.
And at our cocoa facilities, we transform the cocoa beans into high quality cocoa products that we deliver globally.

☕Burundi is a fascinating yet challenging coffee origin due to the constant challenges farmers face in their efforts to make a living.
This is why ECOM’s green coffee service provider Supremo NV has implemented the Akawa project, whose goal is to make sure that farmers have a chance to reach financial autonomy.
The project aims to empower and help farmers escape poverty through the diversification of income, gender equality, and a Producer integrated Plan (PIP).

🌿 We’re proud of our long-term partnership with Starbucks on their “100 Million Tree Commitment”.

Since 2016, ECOM Agroindustrial Corp. Ltd. and Starbucks have delivered around 10 million coffee trees every year to farmers into Starbucks C.A.F.E. Practices supply chains in Guatemala, Mexico and El Salvador as part of this Tree project.

This ambitious project was a response to the widespread outbreak of coffee rust – the fungal disease known locally as La Roya – that reduces the productivity of coffee plants and can impact whole farms. That’s why ECOM committed to grow and deliver high-yield, rust-resistant Marsellesa seedlings to coffee producers.

By replacing aging trees – or those impacted by disease – we can create a sustainable and long-term supply of coffee while improving farmer livelihoods.
