😲 A few days ago, we posted on the concerns raised by RTS (Radio Télévision Suisse) regarding the vulnerability of Swiss solar installations against the risk of sabotage.
These issues are also being addressed at European level. The European Commission has confirmed that it has drawn up guidelines aimed at restricting the use of EU funds for projects incorporating inverters from suppliers deemed to be “high-risk”, with Chinese suppliers being particularly affected.
The inverter, often made in China, plays a central role in an energy installation. As installations become more widespread and interconnected, they are playing an increasingly important role in our critical energy infrastructure. This development brings new opportunities, but also new risks.
The inverter is also the energetic heart of your home, through which all your energy flows.
📋 The published analysis and reported by RTS highlights, in particular, the importance of controlling access, software, communications, and data related to these installations.
At Studer Innotec SA, we have been developing and manufacturing our energy conversion solutions in Switzerland for nearly 40 years.⚡ From electronics to software, including monitoring and data: a fully controlled end-to-end process that ensures greater security, resilience, and energy sovereignty.
