We had a soft spot for these cork grips. Warm, natural, something you noticed the first time you grabbed them — they suit the YIWU in a way that was hard to argue with.

On the YIWU+, we went a different way. Cream grips, cream saddle, cream tires. Everything pulls in the same direction. It's a quieter choice, and we think it's the right one.

But if you disagree, you can order the cork grips separately. They fit. We won't judge.

There are easier finishes to produce. Easier logos to apply. Easier ways to make something look like it cost more than it did.

Chrome is none of those things. It's not a coat of paint – it's a treatment applied directly to the steel frame, which means there's nothing between the material and what you see. We spent months getting it right, trying method after method until it was pure.

A consultant once told us to make the logo bigger. We made it smaller.

Walk past any bike rack and count the logos fighting for your attention. Model names stretched across frames. Branding that treats every surface like ad space.

We went the other way. Two small marks on the head tube and on the seatpost. That's it. Because a bike should look like a bike, not a billboard on wheels.

We don't redesign every season.

The frame hasn't changed at all. The brakes haven't changed in 6 years. Not because we're lazy, but because they don't need to. We keep what works and fix what doesn't. No "2026 model" with a new name and a higher price tag. No trademarked technology that's just last year's part with a sticker.

You buy it once. You keep it for decades. The bikes in this photo could be from this year or from 2017 – and that's the point. Most companies need you to feel like your current bike is outdated. We need you to feel like yours is still right.

We often get asked why we use steel frames instead of aluminum or carbon. The answer is simple: If you are racing, every gram counts and those materials are lighter. But for the city, comfort and longevity matter more.

Steel naturally absorbs the shock of cobblestones and uneven streets, taking the harshness out of your daily ride. It is also incredibly durable. Unlike other materials, a steel frame can be easily repaired by almost any local bike mechanic.

We do not build bikes to shave seconds off a commute. We build them to provide a great riding experience for a lifetime.
